Hon. Thomas Hanna has been quite ill at Indianapolis, where he sutlered a fainting spell in court. Dr. L. M. Hanna received word this morning from Ins brother that his health continued bad and that he would go to West Baden for a rest. Dr. Hanna w ill probably visit him this week.

That Bainbridge case in ’Squire Ashton's court in which three young men a?e defendants, was again postponed today, being set for May 2. That case lias now been postponed and poueposted until it is threadbare and about another postponement will piii it beyond redemption. It is hard to get action it
seems.
The funeral of Robert Renick yesterday afternoon, was very largely attended. The exercises were impressive and the sermon by Dr. E. W. Fisk was a powerful and logical effort, a touching and beautiful tribute to the life of his departed friend. The procession was formed with the city hand and Odd Fellows leading the way, after which followed many carriages. The remains were laid to rest in the familv vault in
Forest Hill.
Fire this morning destroyed the home of Mrs. 11. C. Reeves, two and one-half miles east of the city, on the gravel road. The house wasa two-story frame and was on the farm formerly owned by Ad. Hanna. It cost $.'1000 when new. The loss is estimated at that amount with considerable on household. Mrs. Reeves had £1.500 insurance on the house and $400 on the household goods in the Ohio Farmers’ company with Richardson it Hurst. The tire caught from a stove it is thought. James O’Neal died at his home in Nickerson. Reno county, Kansas, on April 5. Deceased was native of Shelby county, Kentucky,and was horn Jan. 7, l s 20, moving to Putnam county, liuL. in 1825. In isio he married Miss Permilia Wood, and twelve children wer«J>oi\n to them. In 1>''.I M r. O'Neal went to Kansas, and to Nickerson in! Iss7, Mr. O’Neal was. the father of 1 W. II. Mi-s Adeline Rowley, assisted by Mrs. Pauline Blake New house and Mi-s Florence Elliott, gave her senior recital last evening in the presence of a large and appreciative audience. Mi-s Rowley has a deep, rich contralto voice, and has made line progress in its cultivation during her course of study here. Her program last evening was a tine one, | giving a wide opportunity for all tin* qualities of her voice in its entire range, and was rendered with great credit to herself and to her teacher. The grand aria, “Lend Me Your Aid,’’ from Gounod's Queen of Sheba, was specialwell conceived and presented, and the Massenet “Improvisation.’’ The duet, Meyerbeer’s “Age and Youth,” by Mrs. Newlx use and Mis- Rowley, wa- a very attractive number and well given. Miss Rowley exhibited a rcmarkahlv well-trained voice, possessing a wide range and rare vitality of tone, and a | highly dramatic style of presentation, j Mi-s Elliott did excellent work at the I piano both in tin* accompaniments and! in her solos. She played with real del- ! ioacy of -entinieut and interpretation, I ami added much to the interest of the
