Frankeot, Ind., April 19, ’bb. We find from the egg problem in the Mornimj 'limes of April 18 that the lady had in her basket 301 eggs. We find by division that in taking the eggs out of the basket by twos she would visit the basket 150 times with one left in the basket; by threes, 100 times with one left; bj 7 fours, 75 with one left; by fives, (10 with one left; by sixes. 50 with one left; by sevens, 43 and none left in the basket. The fan that makes the most breeze in the summer is the base bull fan.
The Chicago Times-Herald is now under control of H. II. Kohl* saat, formerly of the Inter Ocean. The paper will stand for protection of American industries and will oppose free silver 1(5 to 1 coinage. It is to be independent in politics usid" from this, but the principles set out above are pretty good doctrine. A new democratic newspaper may now spring into exietence in Chicago.
Watch Your Sinai. Editor of the Banner Times: 1 am in receipt of information from large dealers of wool in the east, that they will in future avoid all wool tied up with sisal twine. This is the twine used with wheat binders. It is impossible to use this twine without the fibers mix ing with the wool more or less. Goods made of wool thus damaged is of but little value. Wool grow ers should take notice and tie up their wool with a small hard twine. Aepheus Birc h.
The free importation of Mexican cattle is not likely to tickle the fancy ot farmers. The price Inis lately been to a point where a farmer was justified in raising cattle, but the democratic regime has decided to alford no protection to the cattle raiser, and the “Greaser’’ cattle are coming in free.
Latent on ISrown County. It is said that the farmers living in Brown county near Shakerag since the high waters of 92, have been unable to raise pumpkins or pigs on account of the alluvial soil deposited there at that time; the soil being so fertile that the vines grew very lapidly, thus dragging the pumpkins over the ground and wearing them out; and pigs running after them became so weak they actually died from exertion.

and the people throughout the land. Schurz, then a youth of 20, was the hero of the day. His bold undertaking had won him the admiration and sympathy of every patriotic heart. Exactly by what means Carl Schurz carried his hazardous | or< * er work to a successful consummation was not (and, I believe, is not yet) generally known. There exist different versions of the affair, of which the one recorded in the Indianapolis News is the most charming because the* most fanciful. It represents Sctiurz. under sentence of death, wandering in the guise of an organ-grinder from town to town in search ot the place where

G. F. Souders visited Roachdale Friday and Saturday. The Monon is doing a big coal and stone business, an average of sixty to seventy ears of coal from the Big Four daily. Tramps are still numerous around the north depot. The Big Four had a wreck near Kansas. III., last night, delaying east-bound trains until six o’clock this morning. Only a few ears off the track and no one hurt. Tlte Big Four switch engine had a siiKitl wreck at nortli end of the Monon yards. It ran through an open switch, ditching one car, dumping the entire load into a Mr. Arnold’s front yard.
