some saws. When they left ev erything was in good shape. Part ies passing the mill at eleven o’clock saw nothing wrong. It is possible a spark from a passing train fired the building, but the general opinion about Bainbridge is that tite fire was of incendiary

origin.

The loss is variously estimated at from ten to twelve thousand dollars. There was no insurance on the mill nor its contents, so the loss whatever it is is total. The destruction of the mill will throw about thirty ot thirty-five men out| of employment, and it will cause many to leave Bainbridge to seek employment elsewhere if the mill isn’t rebuilt at once. Mr. McFad den last night stated that he perhaps would need his logs soon, and advised his men to get them ready. He has a mill at Bellmore which he may move to Bainbridge. Should this be done, business may be resumed in a few weeks. This should be done if possible, and the citizens of Bainbridge should lend all assistance to Mr. McFadden, as his plant was the center of the town's business, and it was by far the biggest thing of its kind in the

county.
