Captain John F. Dravo, secretary of the Pittsburg coal exchange, whicli is composed of the river opera tors, said that the river operators would continue to ruu for six weeks yet, and longer if the condition of trade warranted it. All the river crafts are being loaded and there will be 15,000,0.iO bushels ready for shipment to southern ports. The suit is for $15,237,000. The Stanford estate, including the Stanford University property, was appraised at about $17,000,000. Looansport, Ind., March 16.—The school build.ng at Thornhope has been destroyed by fire. The loss is a severe one. All of the 20 pupils were marched out in safety, the greatest excitement of the occasion being created by the absence of a little girl, who was playing “hookey” and who had gone away on a visit.
