A SUCCESSFUL CONCERN

Does not say much. Their success is the best evidence of public appreciation. Merely talking of low prices and exceptional bargains does not satisify buyers, the doing of it is the thing that brings and holds trade. Our success is the result of our consistent business methods. These are expressed in the few words:

G. W. Mack hoaght a load of horses at Indianapolis Tuesday, and will ship to Georgia and Vermont this week. All the members of the Christian church are urged to be present at the meeting tonight in the G. A. R. hall. Matters of interest to the eangregation will be considered. The annual thank offering meeting of the Woman's Foreign Mis sionarj - society of College Avenue church, is postponed from the 17th to the 24th of March. A very interesting program is being prepared for the occasion, which will be an nouuced later. The members of Company I will have an opportunity to see the improved Krag-Jorgenson magazine rifle at their armory Tuesday evening next. Capt. Fee, through the kindness of Lieut. Lewis, U. S. A., will have one of the rifles on exhibition, and every member of the company should be present and see the rifle, which is to be furnished to the National Guard. Business of importance will be transacted. Hon. T. T. Moore and family are at home from Indianapolis. Mr. Moore states to the Banner Times that there were no blows struck, spittoons thrown, nor umbrellas used in that rush at the close of the session, and that the reports were so overdrawn by the newspa pers that they are laughable. The greatest part of the “scrap” existed in tlie excited brains of icporters, who, of course, made their stories as strong as they could. In an interview with Hon. Geo. W. Hanna, Putnam's representative in the legislature, he stated to the Banner Times that the reports in ail tlie daily papers of the strugode in the house at. the close of the O legislature were all overdrawn. He says there were no blows struck and that the entire affair was nothing more than a friendly struggle of pushing men. There was none of the sensational features that have been so widely printed in the metropolitan journals. Mr. Hanna said the republicans and democrats parted good friends and that there was no blood shed in the house.
