And still we are not nestling any where near spring’s lap.
In the minds of correspondentd there cattle near being more ‘•die” than “sine” in that now cele brated last gasp of Indiana's legis lain re.
Railroad companies have charged the people of Bloomington $114 for transporting a car-load of supplies from that city to the Nebraska sufferers. Had the railroads done right in the matter they should have charged nothing at all for that car. Paying $114 on a car load of charity supplies doesn’t look right bv considerable.
The Banner Times yesterday published the Nicholson bill, as it passed, and today it prints the other measures passed by the legis lature. They will prove valuable reference and the two issues should be preserved. As the Nicholson law after June 1, bids fair to be come a live issue and demand the average citizen’s attention it would be well for every one to get familiar
with its provisions.
So far the Inter Ocean has made the rankest, most inconsistent and unreliable report of the closing of
the Indiana legislature.
The bride is an atvom-
we con-
j gratulate her on her choice an 1 Inturo prospects in life. Of the groom little is known except that he struck the town some three months ago on his uppers, and hung out his shingle as a lawyer. He has succeeded in securing several two dollar divorce cases and he has acquired other business by industriously working the slums and jails. He is also credited with a number of cleverly executed cases of blackmail. He came here from a little place in the east, leaving the town between two days to escape prosecution for forgery. It is also alleged that he has seven wives living, four of whom are in the poor house, and that several 01 Ins children are inmates of the home for the fricudleos. He has been in the penitentiary several times for horse stealing and was once sentenced to be hung for poisoning his grandmother, but effected his escape by braining the sheriff and jail attendants with a hatchet. There are other and more serious charges against the groom, but we courteously refrain from giving them publicity at this inopportune time, though we mayref er to them later. We join in the general congratulatory acclaim, wishing the newly married couple the fullest measure of do
mestic happiness. ItheuniRtitfiu Cured.
