It is the mission of the newspa per to publish news. Now it is a fact that from the man who waters his milk, to the cold-blooded murderer, all degrees of criminal man kind wiint news suppressed. Their business is disturbed by the enterprise of newspapers. But no one who is open ami honest and free from any taint of transgression wants news suppressed. Invitations to the wedding of Rev. Elbert Robb Zaring to Miss Minnie M. Beem, of Spencer, have been issued. Miss Beem is the daughter of David Beem, one of Owen county’s most prominent citizens, and Rev. Barlow's lai.istrcls showed • a good house at the opera uousc last evening. The company is an excellent one and dealt in genuine minstrelsy. an entirely too rare an article these days of fake shows, clap trap and electric lights. The Barlows and Ward and Weeks were fun makers from the word go, hut for some reason Billy Barlow didn't warm to his work as is his wont. He is a circus within himself when at his best and what he did last evening stamped him as a genuine artist. The acrobats, musical kings and terpischoreans were good and occasionally a new gag was sprung. The end man’s remarks as to the Wilson hill being counterfeit were very appropriate. The “minstrel festival” was a neat hit of aetette play and was heavily applauded. The show on a whole w as clean and good, first class in all particulars.
