The simiilarity of the titles confused the reporter. The parties reside at New Maysville and the case was ventilated in the mayor's court several months ago. It was dismissed

Joe Kano, a Japanese, rooming at science hall, but who has been working near Roachdale this summer, met with a serious accident yesterday by which he may lose one of his hands. He was hunting near Roachdale and becoming tired he placed the butt of the gun on the ground and with his hand over the muzzle ot the piece lie leaned on the gun for support. While in this position the weapon was discharged and a large hole was torn through his hand. Dr. Sniythe removed the metacarpal bones and dressed the wounds. He reports his patient

doing satisfactorily.

Peter Stoner was in Bloomington yesterday seeing the sights and having fun, as he always does, at home or abroad. They are telling a new story on Peter anil the city marshal of Bloomington. Mr. Stoner, in the course of his travels, met the otlieer and was introduced to him. The officer, swelled with the ollieial dignity of his office, and on account of fair week, began bragging to the Greeneastle man of bis town, comparing Bloomington with Greeneastle etc. Peier stood

(Bruner has been made assistant general passenger agent of the Vandalia in place of John Chesbrough, resigned. Mr. Bruner has been chief clerk in the office for a number of years. Thirteen divorce cases are on file in the Putnam circuit court. It is believed this state of affairs is an indirect result ot the dissensions in the democratic party there. New Al bany, will be sent to Locust Street church, Greeneastle, by the next conference; that Rev. Clijipinger will go to Vincennes, and that Rev. Steele will remain at Bloomington.
