On July 10 Lee Akers assaulted Charles A. Edwards at the latter's father's farm in the north part of the county. Akers struck Edwards a heavy blow over the head with a pitchfork, breaking the handle of the same squarely in two. Edwards supposed Akers would apologize, but it never came; so an action was tiled today in the circuit court, charging Akers with assault and battery. Edwards is a son of Howard Edwards.
