Mrs. Cunningham, of Pittsburg, Kas., is at the bedside of her sister, Mrs. James Taylor. Misses Sallie and Drew Sellers left yesterday afternoon for a visit at Albany, Missouri. St. Paul’s Catholic church has been refitted throughout with handsome new oak benches. Miss Lilly Black went to Indianapolis this morning, where she has secured a position. Lon Jacobs left this morning for Warsaw where he attends a meeting of the Western Writers. Joe ('ooper left Saturday afternoon for Roachdaie, where he has employment for the summer. Mr. Jas. Coffman, of Detroit, Michigan, was a guest over Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Lotshar. Master Harry Hurley, of India napolis, is visiting his uncle and aunt, Mr. ami Mrs. Jas. Hurley. Mrs. Dr. G. L. Simmons, of Sacramento, Cal., is visiting Mrs. Jerome Allen and Mrs. Albert

A number of long distance bicycle tourists were here yesterday. Some of the wheels were quite handsome. Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Ridpath left this morning for Warsaw to utteml a meeting of the Western Association of Writers. Capt. Josiah Williams, of War ren township, left Saturday night for Denver to attend the Lincoln league conclave. Mrs. Waldo, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mr. John Coffman,of Detroit, are visiting their sister, Mrs. Jacob Lotshar. Dr. and Mrs. N. G. Smith went to Evansville this morning to attend a meeting of the board of trustees of the A. O. U. W.

I lie t inciiinati, Hamilton & Dayton Railroad will run one of their famous excursions to Niagara Falls at the usual low rate sometime about the first or second week in August. These excursions were discontinued last year owing to the World’s Fair, and il is expected that they will he larger this year. Look out for the announcement of them in this paper. Harry Mathias, jr., has with drawn from the Star Prets. Mr. Binkley, of Tipton, visited friends in the city yesterdaj’. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hurst spent Sunday in Hendricks county. The intermediate Epworth league of College Avenue church will give a social at the residence of Hiram Allen on east Seminary street this evening. A largo party of friends witnessed a uight blooming cereus at the residence of Mrs. McGee, corner of Indiana anil Hanna streets, last evening. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. L. Bartow, accompanied by Clayton Kelly, left this afternoon for a several weeks’ visit at the former’s home in Pennsylvania. On Friday Messrs. Emmett Pee and James (Tuft of Indianapolis, J. A. Ricketts and Harry Hays of this city will go to Eel river falls for an outing of three days. Miss Carrie Belle Lawrence died Friday at her home six miles east of the city of consumption. Stic w’.as eighteen years of age. The funeral occurred Saturday at Deer Creek. Miss Anna Kelly left this morning for Greencastle to spend several weeks visiting relatives and triends. A tramp, whose name could not be ascertained, was struck by an east-bound Yandalia freight at 12:16 o’clock yesterday morning. The train was just pulling out of the station when it struck the man, who was sitting on one of the rails, knocking him from the track and bruising him badly. He refused to give his name to the railroad men, but said he was not seriously hurt Among the visitors to Eel river falls yesterday in addition to the party mentioned on Saturday were Messrs, and Mesdames J. The marriage of Miss Mary A. Reeves to Julian C. Wentworth occurred at the residence of Mrs. K. P. Adam, east Kitkwood avenue, yesterday afternoon, Rev. L. T. VanCleave performing the ceremony. Quite a large number of invited guests were present to witness the ceremony. The happy couple received the hearty congratulations of those present. The3' received many valuable and useful presents from their friends. Mr. Wentworth is the genial foreman of the World office, and has a host of friends in this city who wish him success in his new venture.
