It’s 4 GREllT liSTE Of paint to put on a poor article. It will last but a short time and cost nearly as much as a good article—while the latter will last for years and look bright all the time. True economy is in the use of the good article. As such we can recommend our paints and oil.

Today there is a household where things are hushed: the birds seem to have forsaken their rookeries, never to return; the blinds are lowered against the light of day, and within their shadows are those whose faces are solemn, whose voices are low. In that house hold is a vacant chair, and the beautiful face, the gentle voice and the ctdtured manner and tfie sweet nature will adorn and grace it no more forever. Though death lias taken her away, he cannot take away the recollections of the happy days site had with those who so dearly loved her. He cannot take away the recollections of that day when in fier attractive and charming youth she avowed her devotion to the man she loved. He cannot take away the recollections of the hour of trial and misfortune, when she stood near him and bore her share with affectionate fortitude. He cannot take away the recollections of that night when she watched witli throbbing bosom the indications, us he lay tossing in critical sickness. He cannot takeaway the recollections of the thousands of little tilings she said and did in which she showed that he was the subject of her every thought and the object of her every plan. He cannot take away the recollections of tier manifestations of love toward those of riper years, with whom she was so long associated and for whom she had such veneration and regard. These are legacies indeed. Fortunes of great magnitude may depreciate or meet disaster in a moment, but tin* memories of those so dear to us will endure forever. So with our hearts full of these happy thoughts we bid Minnie farewell. May fragrant flowers of the brightest beauty cover her grave every May, anti may the Mocking-bird and the Robin build their nests near her and warble throughout the summer day. But when we think of her. her words, her actions, her laugh, may we never associate the dungeon of the grave, let us think of her in the Joy of tier infinite rewards which the great God lias prepared for her anti into which he has bidden her everlasting welcome.
