S. J. Vansant, of Seymour, is in the city. Green Parker is in Brazil today on business. See that every republican voter is out on next Tuesday. Frank Vancleave left this afternoon for Crnwfordsville. Mrs. Gifford 1ms moved from Ironton, Ohio, to this city. The therometer marks 85 degrees this afternoon. That’s hot. Mrs. D. E. Williamson is spending the day in Indianapolis. Services at 10:50 o’clock tomorrow at the Episcopal church. Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Allen are here today from Bainbridge. James Nelson went to Columbus, O., this morning on legal business. Visit the war relic show tonight. It positively closes with this week. Mr. C. E. Ellis was called to Indianapolis this morning on busi-

ness.

There will be regular services at the Episcopal church tomorrow at usual hour. Misses Nona Smythe and Nelly: Matson went to Indianapolis yes terday atternoon. Ewald Petzhold has retired from the employ of Louis Weik and is succeeded by Wm. F. Schwanderer,

of Philadelphia, one of the finest pastry bakers in the country. Mrs. Wilbur Browder, of Indianapolis, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wiles Jones. Hon. W. W. Curry, of Washington. D. 0., is here todat'. He will preach in Fineastle tomorrow. The state ticket appeared in the Banner Times in a slightly damaged condition. It is now correct. The Coatesville ball nine fell easy victims to the Greeneastle club yesterday afternoon by a score of

31 to 8.

Edmund Perkins is called a man of dough by the Democrat. “Dough” is a good thing to have these democratic times. Mrs. Frank Moore, of Memphis, Tenn., spent yesterday with Mrs. Martha Devore and returned home this morning. You will ovserve in this issue the proper way to vote a republican ticket on Tuesday. See that every republican vote is out. U. A. Wright, who has been studying medicine and surgery in Chicago, is at home, aud will enter Dr. Smythe’s oflice this summer. The G. A. R. show is full of interesting relics, and an enumeration of the many things would require many columns. See the display. This is the last day of the relic shew by the G. A. R. Go in and see it tonight. It will repay you for your time and the small amount of admission asked. The Odd Fellows w :, l meet in their halls tomorrow atternoon to march in a body to Meharry hall. They will meet at 2:30. Dr. Curtiss will deliver the address at Meharry hall. M. O. Packard, of Plymouth, national bank examiner, is here this week looking over the books of our local banks. He pays the First and Central banks of the city high compliments on their efficiency. The Banner Times is making a new rate on local advertising in our daily issue. The rates are lowered somewhat and long time rates quoted. This is one of the best ways to advertise and one of the

cheapest.

That street sprinkler would be worth many dollars to Greeneastle business men today. This dust is awful. Those who refuse to pay for a street sprinkler should wake up and shake out a few cents. They will save money thereby. Judge Coffey spoke at a large

and Mrs. Jonathan Birch and Misses Mathers, Goulding, Etta Jones, Helen Birch and Emma

Jones.

War relic show for the benefit of relief fund of G. A. R. post is now open. An immense collection of relics of the war and Hawaiian and other relics, besides a great collection of autograph letters and autographs of Lincoln. Grant. Johnson, Jeflersou, Jackson, Monroe, Madison, Washington, Stanton, Chase, William Cullen Bryant, Chas. Sumner and many others, and many interesting documents. Pupils of the public schools will be admitted for five cents on afternoons. General admission ten cents. Public invited. You will be both interested and instructed aud spend an evening pleasantly. A man who would write an anonymous letter assailing the character of Wm. E. Starr and puffing the churchly and saintly virtues of a man like Sel Brazier is either crazy or a paltroon. Still such letters have been going through the mails. Greeneastle will stand by an officer whose strong arm has kept down rowdyism and whose body has stopped rocks and bullets of assassins and bullies. The people of Greeneastle appreciate good services. are willing to pay for the same, and the enormous vote given Mr. Starr in the city primary is an evidence that he will receive the largest majority in his official career at Tuesday’s election.

mass meeting at Brazil last night and made a ringing republican talk in which he stated he was for the ticket and at the party’s service. The judge is all right and is right now a great menace to democracy in this district. It is a dollar to a dime bet that if Everett Bourne should visit Greeneastle and make a pass at Sel. Brazier, that that three hundred pound worthy would tear all the under brush out of the south end in getting out of the rowdy’s way. Brazier’s brawn would yield in front of even a putty pellet. Chief Engineer Kittredge, of the Big Four, says he is well informed as to the physical condition of a majority of the roads in this country, and he does not believe that there are many stretches of track of 263 miles which is as uniformly good, smoother or more evenly bal lasted than the St. Louis division of the Big Four.—Indianapolis Journal. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lfockridge entertained a number of their friends last evening at an “Art Exhibit.” The guests were made to disguise themselves behind a canvas and then let their faces appear through an opening in a canvas, the object being to guess who was on exhibition. Those attending were: Prof, and Mrs. Ogg, Mr. and Mrs. Brock way, Dr. and Mrs. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hathaway, Mr. and Mrs. Cole, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Reniek, Dr. and Mrs. Evans, G.
