A canning factorv located at Greencastle would furnish a market for everything raised by th.- farmers, to a greater extent, than any other one enterprise that could be projected. This is a fact; and what is more, it would yield a greater per cent, on the money invested, after it was in operation, than any
other.
John Dillon, who works for Will Steeg at Litnedale, had a narrow escape yesterday afternoon. Junction.

A Genuine Surprise.
One of those old time surprise parties where formality is laid away before the excursion begins and where everybody takes a lunch basket was that of Saturday evening at early candle lighting. Tonight Miss Rose’Josliu leaves for Milwaukee to be absent for several months where she takes a position in the teaching department of Mrs. Van Tassel's private school. Her society friends decided on a stir prise as soon as the news became current last week that she was going to leave, and the result was that the affair was successfully planned and neatly executed, the best feat- \ tire was that the surprise was total
and genuine. The Misses Joslin Our New Large Button Kid Gloves are Just Soft Enough,
