At the Bethel A. M. F,. church last night the congregation gathered to find that their electric lights had been taken out and they were left in total darkness. Lamps were resurrected and the services were held, with one addition to the church. Their contract with the electric light company was out and they are having gas put in the church. The remains of the eight-year- ! old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wat- I son Hamrick arrived today on the Vandalia at 1 :52 p. in. Mr. and Mrs. Hamrick formerly lived in this county, he being a son of Air. Dudley Hamrick, of Hamricks station, and Mrs. Hamrick a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Bryant. They now reside in Topeka, Kas. The remains were taken to Forest Hill cemetery from the depot. ( laude Travis won the Wabash oratorical on Friday. His subject was “The Hero of the Reformation."
