His many friends hope his illness will not prove serious. Frank Rogers was elevating shoel and otherwise getting unduly animated at his home on South Greencastle on Saturday evening. A poIice call came in and he was landed. This morning in the mayor’s court Rogers paid $30 in tines and costs for assault and battery and intoxication. Died, on Saturday, at the home of her father on Jackson street, Florence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Wells, of typhoid fever, aged nine years. The funeral will occur tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, the services conducted by Dr. Hill and Elder Morris. Mr. and Mrs. Wells have the sympathy of a large number of friends in this, their bereavement. Miss Edith Basye, formerly of DePauw, graduating in 18!)2, will visit friends in the city next week. Miss Basye is on her way to Rome, Italy, where she goes as a teacher in a Methodist seminary, taking the position lately vacated by Miss Vickery, of Evansville. Miss Basye will teach English, Miss Vickery having been transferred to another department of the school. Mrs. E. B. Walker has returned from Greencastle.— Anderson Unl
