A Rich Cask. Wending our weary way homeward last nijbt at a late hour, after the last bit of "local" copy had been set, and the las, proof read, we came upon an individual clinging affectionately to a lamp-post. " His Honor shook him warmly by the hand, and wished him success. After the shuking process, he extended his brawny arms as if to embrace the Court, and said, "You will never sees me again let me kees you vouce oh, let me kees you ! " The Mayor respectfully declined the proffered bliss, amid the uproarious laughter of the spectators. He then marched out, saying, 'Dat settles it! dat settles it!" Jiul. Citizen. " You a dentist, Bob? I did not know you were in that trade." "Yes," said Bob; " 1 follow no other business but setting teeth in beef, potatoes, bread and such like." Jcst So. The Sandusky Register says: According to the best of our belief, John Van Buren, for a man of. his age and size, has put himself to the trouble of doing and saying more foolish things than any other man iu America." A boy, twelve ' years of age, named Hurl, escaped from the Indian attack on a settlement near Lake Sheick, Minnesota, and carried and led his baby brother, two years old, sixty miles to New Ulm, the nearest settlement.
