The Poll EvilA A correspondent to the Germantown Telegraph says : Some pets sons regard the poll evibas-i-uc-uf-able. It iff sometimes called fistlua. No matter how long the, sore has been yunnmg. it can be—cured in a brief time, ata cost not exceeding tenants. One dime spent in mnratic acid will be sufficient to effect a radical and permanent cure of the most stubborn fistula. The sore should be first very -thorughly cleansed with some abstergent fluid, and for this purpose bure water is perhaps as valuable a thing that can be used, and drop eight or ten drops of the acid in t wince a day till it has the appearance of a fresh wound ; then wash clean with soap suds made of castile soap and leave it to heal, which it will, speedily do if the acid lias been used long enough. Should it, however, heal slowly, apply the acid,a second time and in the manner above described, taking care to wash out the pipe thororrzhl v, and it WiFi be fonud an infallible remedy in the most inveterate cisenses of this sort; hut it must be remembered that in or dor to do so, the acid mpstbeappli e i till the corrupt or diseased flesh, is all burned out. .Preparing Seed Corn. —Farmers who have not choice corn far , seed already on hand had better pay five dollars per bushel for the ■best quality then, to plant inferior grain, if the latter is obtained for nothing. A kind of corn should be selected that ripens early, fills the cobs well to the eml, large sized-ears, with deep. plump_ • kerenls. and small cob. It is bad. iplhn to buy shelled corn for seed.
