Marshal Banin* has Isau.d order* that the fast French soldier shall be embarked by the 3d of March. 1 A complete official list shows that one ) thousand and sixty-one American shipa have been transferred to the British flag ! during the past fire years, and that one* hundred and nine were sold in London. Secretary Welles received a telegram ' par table, last week from Rear Admiral i Gold-boronj’h, in command of tee English ' squadron, eta ing that the steamer Swaitara left ihe squadron for the United . At a meeting of tbo Fenian circles in New Ycrk last week Captain O'Shea 1 denied that Stephens had defrauded the Brotherhood. The fund* were ail safe in the hands of Colonel Kelly and other | prominent officers. Stephens is not a: British spy, nor in Connivance with the British Government. Circumstances compelled him to remain here, as at the departure of the Hat French steamer 'he was without funds. Stephens wants; money. His patriotism can not flourish 1 without it. Tbs C. 0. I. [From the New York World.] Impeaching the President. The removal of the President ia a party necessity for the Republicans, if they can not find evidence sguinar him they will iuvsnt and suborn it. To leave things in the present dead lock tor two years longer, would rum them as a party ' for the people are impatient to see the ' pending qu> alien settled in some way. But to get clear of dead lock, they must I either yield to th* president or depose • him. Their pride, their ambiUon, their malice, their late popular majoritv, their ' parly insolence scorn the idea of yielding ! There is no alternative but impeachment. To be bscktd by majorities and etill be ' baffied, is what they do not mean >0 I endure, i'hay have rssolved to cut the knot which they can not untie, and risk ! tbs consrqutncrs. Some of their cooler and more crafty ■ I heads are trying, since Monday, to quiet 1 the apprehensions of the country by j affleQting to believe that the impeachintent will be pushed no farther, but 'hushed io ths Judiciary Committee/ ! They hope to take off the edge ot oppositiou and al»rm by familiarizing ihepabtic , mind with a proceeding which would ' I give teo rude a shock if their whole | drsign were fully disclosed atonce.
