Ko»civ»xo — The very bone* ol Kouciu,ko cannot '.at rat’;» <n their grave»,n;d that unshrinking eycrit shriek in agony over the M-rvi.w on«n:fe*tat;oai of Ameican sympathy w:h Russia in this very hour when Po’arnl struggles hr her life, sad Rtstsis tut .tiers her people and burns her cities anl desolates her land! Is Kosciusko, and are Lis gallant services in the cause of American freedom, forgotten? Is gratitude dead? Ara tbe nieces ol ovr Revolutionary heroes no longer sacred? The manifestations of sympathy with Busis bare their fountain bead at Washington, and are fostered end encouraged by Administration organs and tbs shoddy arristotrats at New York They indicate a desire to ally the nisceat despotism of America with the most aacient ‘ and the most gigantic and unlimited of 1 the despotism of Europe. The spirits of , Washington and Kosciusko frown upon the unhallowed bond and abhor the projected al'iauce!
Col. Stillwell, who is engaged in raising the volunteer regiments in the Eleventh Congressional District, says the prospect for success is most encouraging. and that everything looks favorable forfi. ng it up speedily. He has now two hundred men in camp of which number-lay county has futn;«hed fortytour. In Adams county there are sixty who have volunteered and ready to g'< in camp; in Wells, between forty and fifty; in Wabash, over one hundred; in Howard about sixty and in Madiaoo from forty to fif.y. The other coin tie* in the district have not done so*well but they are now aroused to the necessity of a vigorora effort to furnish their quota* with volunteer*, sc as to prevent the necessity of a draft. THE ARMY VOTE. Information received from the Wisconsin regiments enables us to state some ol the reasons why the Democratic vote is not larger. Before the election, Democratic tickets were forwarded in large numbers by mail. So far as beard from but one or two of these letters containing tickets were recived by those to whom they were addressed. On the o'her hand, a large number of tickets containing tbe names of the Democratic candi-
date*, was printed here in Wisconsin, by the Republican*, headed "Disunion Copperhead Vallandingham tick* I.” The* reached the army and were exhibited to the eoldiere as the regular Democratic ballot*. One lot of tickets sent to tbe I<th, we are credible informed, were deliberately destroyed by officers of that regioeiat. Another lot was forwarded, but hoar they fared we ha. e not learned. Th# de-aaocratie 17tli regiment,„ to which aso al'.it nde of democratic banots were forwarded ai an early day from ».*•** ejty, was zjeatiUata of ticket* until th* •oldiera procured thees juet before the election from private hand*. Throughout the army democratic officew dared not to interfere in behalf of tbe decxocratie candidates, for fear of unpleasant personal coeaoq«enc£s. and eery few of tito privates possessed the moral aoarags to resist the pressure upon them. A fair and impartial vole in the araay may be considered out of the question. Ko anatter how patriotic, or how enthusiMttesily for the prosecution of the war any candidate may be, unless he has the adminstration stamp upon him, he can have no votes worth counting in side the
