HOSTETTER’S STOMACHJITTERS. The proprietors and manufacturers of HO3TETTER’S CELEBRATED STOMACH BITTERS tan appeal with perfect confident* to physicians and citizena generally of the United brakes, because the article has attained artputution heretofore unknown. A few facta Dpote this point will speak more powerfully than volumes of bare abscriion or bln zoning pufiery. The consumption of Hostel ter s Stomach Bitters for the last year amounted to over a halfmillion bottles, arid from its manifest steady increase in times past, it is evident that during the coming year rhe consumption will reach near one million bot ties. 1 his immense amount could never have been sold but for the rare medicinal properties contained in the preparation, and the sanction of the most prominent physicians in those sections of the country where the article is best known, who not only recommend the Birtera to their patients, but are ready at all times to give testimonials to its efficacy in all cases of stomachic derangement* and the diseases resulting therefrom. This is not a temporary popularity, obtained by extraordinary efforts iu the way of trumpeting the qualities of the Bitters, but a solid estimation of an invaluable medicine, which is destined tu be as enduring ns time itself. Hostetter's Stomach Bitters have proved a v>>dscnd to regions where fever and ague uud various other bilious complaints have counted their victims by hundreds. To be able to state confidently that the “Bitters’* are a certain cure for the l>yspepsia and like diseases, is lo the proprietors a source of unalloyed pleasure. It removes all morbid matter from the slum: ch, purifies the blood, and j imparts renewed vitality lo the nervous system, ■ giving it that tone and energy indispensable fur the rest oration of health, h operates upon the stomach, liver, and other digestive organs, mildly but (Miwerfully, and soon restores theta to essential to the healthy discharge of the functions of nature. <• Elderly persons may use the Bitters daily as per directions on the bottle, and they will find in it a stimulant peculiarly adapted to comfort declining years, as if is pleasant to the palate, invigorating io the bowels, excellent as a tenia, and rejuvenating generally. We have the evidence of thousands of aged men and women who have experienced the benefit of using this i preparation while suffering from stomach derangements and general debility; acting under i the advice of physicians, they have abandoned ■ all deleterious drugs and tuiriy tested the merits of this article. A few words to the pm tier sex. There are certain periods when t icir cares ate so harassing that many of them •ink under the trial. The relation of mother and child is so absorbingly tender, thnt the mother, especially if she be young, is npt to forget her own health in her extreme anxiety for her the period of maternity arrive during the summer season, the wear of t ody and mind is generally aggravated. Here, ! then, is a necessity fur a stimulant to recuperate the energies of the system, and enable the mother to bear up under her exhausting trials and responsibilities. Nursing mothers generally prefer the Bitters to all other invigorators thnt receive the endorsemeat of physicians, because it is agreeable to the taste M v ell as certain to give a permanent increase es Lodi'y strength. All those persons, to whom we have parfieu/«rly referred above, to wit: sufferers from t< er and ague, cansed by malaria, diarrhoea, dysentery, indigestion, loss of appetite, and ail diseases or derangements of the stomach, superannuated invalids, persons of sedentary ecciq nt ion, and nursing mothers, will consult their own physical welfare by giving to Hoetriter’s Celebrated Stomach Bitters a trial. CAUTION. —We (million the public against i:*dng any of tho many imitations or counterfeits, but ask for Hostetter s Celkbbatkd Stomach Bittfrs. and see that each bottle has the words “ Dr. J. NOW IBTHE TIME TO SUBSCRIBE The Sentinel 1863! Tho governmental Bad political questions of the coming year will have an abaorbing in teres or every citigen. We are engagod in a gigabt tic civil war, result or which none can foresees It threatens a radical change in the inatitution. and principles upon which the government, was founded, and the the liberty and | rights of the eitiaen, such as the people of no other nation have enjoyed, and to which may be attributed our unequaled progress in national prosperity and greatness. The issue will soon ne upon us, whether this free government shall be preserved and maintained and the rights of the States under the Constitution perpetuated, or a powerful central authority be permitted to grow out of this war, obliterating State lines. State institutions, and all those checks upon he Federal government, rights reserved by the tates, which have constituted the excellence nd superiority of our nationality—States “one s the sea” for the common objects set forth in he Constitution, but “distinct as the billows” n the management of their purely domestic afairs. These questions were involved in the recent elections, and the voice of the people was most emphatically expressed for the “Constitution as it is and the Union as it was.” Never was there a time when it was so important that the people should be thoroughly advised as to the progress and condition of public affairs and passing events. A people are not fit for self government unless with au ii.telligent judgment they decide upon the questions which affect alike their own and the public welfare. CONGRESS.—WiII soon assemble, and the most important questions will be brought before it for determination. One of whi the eman cipation and colonization policy of the President ; will vitally affect the futuie of the country. All I i' interesting Congressional proceedings will be I reported in the Sentinel. | THE LEGISLATURE--A rew Legislature will assemble on the Sth of January next. Its action will have a deep interest for the citizens lof Indiana. The Sentinel will contain a fa»th- ‘ ful and intelligent repot tof its proceedings, so that the reader can understand from day to day what their representatives are doing. THE WAR.—The events of the war as they are developed will be faithfully given so that the public may be advised as to its progress; the 1 results of battles, the condition of the contend* j ing armies, and all that effects the great strug- ’ gle, at home and abroad, for the overthrow of j the Rebellion. In addition, the Sentinel will contain the curI rent news of the day, choice miscellanv, State items, the latest reports of the New York and i Cincinnati general and cattle markets, the coni dition of the money and stock markets; in a word, it will be the effort of the proprietors cf the Sentinel to give its columns an interest for ' all Hases of readers and such information ’as will be especially adapted to the well the citizens of Indiana. The Sentinel will continue to represent nnd •tand by the regular organizations of the Demo [ cratic party. State and National; sustain the principles and policy they shall avow.and sup port the candidates they may nominate. We have no agents. The low price for sub script ion will not allow it. We tnerefore ask our Democratic friends—all who desire the sue c*ss of sound principles—to aid in the exten sion of the circulation of the Sentinel, Daily and Weekly until they shall at least reach every Democratic family in Indiana. The press is a most important agent in directing aright the ( public mind, and all that is needed to give the ( Democratic party permanent rule is the enlightenment of the people as to its principles and policy. It shall be our aim, with all the ability we possess, to faithfully advocate Democratic sentiments and measures, for we believe that in so doing we best promotethetrue interests of die countiy.
