Struck Adams County. The Adams county republicans already see the handwriting on the wall. The following is a fac-aimile letter sent to every precint committeeman in the county. It shows their anxiety on the subject and is real amusing to the democrats who will now keep Paul Hooper busy posting them as to the sentiment expressed. A negro campmeeting will be held at Barkley Smith’s fish pond east of town, commenced July 17, and will continue ten day*. Jacob Wahle and his hired hand got into a fight on account of a settlement some time last week. Wahle not being satisfied with that much, had his opponent arrested who plead guilty and paid his fine. But returned the compliment and had his former master, Whale hocked. The people’* was poorly attended on account of the rainy,weather the day b fore and the busy time. The new telephone line is doing .a very nice business, and is convenient for our people. The corner stone laying of the new German Reformed church on last Sunday was witnessed by a large crowd. It is estimated that nearly 2,000 people were on the grounds. The weather was very favorable.
