Marion Lannon, who has been working ; in the oil fields southwest of this place, hired a rig and came to town Christmas eve. After partaking of too much bug juice he went into Baxter’s barber shop, threw over a counter breaking the show case into I pieces. He agreed to pay for it and his team was sent to the teed yard until lie made good the damages, but the next morning a itranger came along and claimed the i team, so Baxter was left the sack to hold. The postoffice, saloon and blacksmith shop were robbed on Wednesday night of last week. After going through the blacksmith shop and getting what tools they ‘ wanted, they went through the poetoffice 'cutting through the front door and got about one hundred stamps and tearing I open several packages but getting nothing jof value. Then going to the saloon, th-y I tried all doors and windows aud found that they could not open them, and being i verv thirsty, they took a stick of wood with whicli they smashed in one of the windows in the rear of the building at I which they entered. After taking all the whiskey and cigar* the wanted they departed from town. MONROE ITFM9 The oyster supper of New Year’s eve was a grand success, Grandma Wagoner is still very low with no hopes of recovery. The schools of this township reopened Thursday of this week. E. B.
