On returning she was wonderfully surprised to greet such a host of friends which had come to remind her of her nineteenth birth-day. The evening was in enjoyable one to all present. Nathan Hillery of this place who has been a resident of this township for the last ten years moved to Ohio this week. We are sorry to loose Mr. “H.’ .but what we loose others gain where he moved. We wish (him success in his newjhome. This place can turn out more old Batchelors to the square foot than any place on God’s green earth, we would advise all old maidsand girls who have a notion in the near future of running their head in the halter of matrimony to come a little this way. Albert Burey and wife also Chris Welty and wife who has been visiting relatives at this place returned to their home Bluffton, Ohio, on Monday last. . The subject for debate was “resolved that women have her rights of suffrage.” It was decided in favor of the negative, two to one. Missionair Ferdinant Hahn who has been a successful worker in East India for the past twentw-slx years addressed the people of this place Wednesday evening. Thursday afternoon and evening at t h;e Menonite church, which was well attended. The privilege of hearing him was an honor to the people. The new building of Joe Welty is nearly completed and will be used as a photograph gallery and music store by Moser the photographer and D. A. Gillfom the musician. Dr. J. L. Smith of Hoagland made a professional call at this place Thursday.
