Hall has gone to Marion, where he will be for some time at tending to his picture business in that district. Mrs. hayton Haltzell arrived from Fort Wayne yesterday afternoon to visit with her i>arents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Haley, and her daughter, Mrs. Ed Kleinhenz. A coat attracted much attention in its crate yesterday afternoon at the local National express office. The goat was being shipped by F. G. Lucas to his family at Bay City, Mich. A ease of diphtheria is reported in the city, the house of Morris Hay being quarantnied on account of the illness of a son, who has diphtheria. -Mrs. Charles Long and daughter. I Geraldine, returned to Fort Wayne this morning after a visit in Willshire, Ohio. She stopped off here enroute home. The Pythian Sisters will have a Jolly time Friday evening, when the losing side in a membership contest, recently closed, will entertain the winning side. Mrs. A. R. Hell, Mr. and -Mrs. Jesse Helm and -Mrs. J. H. Heller motored to Fort Wayne this morning, where they spent the day with relatives and friends. Dr. Fred Patterson's dental offices have been adorned with new window signs which announce his location to the public. His offices are in the Dorwin block, over the Auth Jewelry store. Miss Rose Martin came home from Fort Wayne, bringing with her her lit tie nephew, Fred Connell, who has been with her during the time h’a mother has been a patient at the hospital. They came to be here to greet Mrs. Connell, when she arrived from the hospital today. Mrs. O. L. Vance who Is a patient at the St. Joseph hospital, Ft. Wayne, is kindly remembered by her friends with a profusion of flowers, tribute of their esteem. Among those received were handsome bouquets from the Fort Wayne Scottish Rite Masons, the Decatur Masons, and other lodges, a Decatur club, Mr. and Mrs, Oscar Hoifman and other friends. W. F. Wilson and A: J. Smith have returned from Delaware, Ohio, where they attended a sale of Hereford cattle. Messrs. Wilson and Smith are engaged in the raising of Herefords and have a fine bunch at the Smith , farm north of the city. While at Dela-I ware they purchased eight more. They ’ expect to take three head to Chicago ' during the International Stock show, to be placed on sale there December 4th. Peter Schneider, who has been serving as government inspector in a large packing establishment at Terre Haute, is here on a ten days’ leave of absence. He is feeling much better than when he left and has about regained his former good health. He came home last summer in a very serious condition and friends feared he would never be well again, but they are all glad to know- that he is again in splendid health The desire of William F. Palmer, Jr., of New York City to take his one-day-old daughter down to the club to “show her to the boys,’’ is stated by Mrs. Palmer as one of the reasons why a decree of separation should be granted her. Other reasons alleged are that Palmer threw plates about the house, indulging in liquor, and used harsh language to his wife. Mrs. Palmer filed her separation complaint in the supreme court. She is living with her daughter at the home of her father in East Orange, and her husband lives at 220 Edgecomb avenue. Come and see the big musical comedy success, "Funny Side of Site,” which plays an engagement at the Bosse opera house on Friday, November 22nd. It will give entire satisfaction, judging from reports which have reached us from other cities. The owners of this well known aggregation are Richy W. Craig and I>ou Stark, two producers of well known abiliay, who have spared neither expense nor labor to make this one of the biggest hits of the season, and they certainly have succeeded, judging from the reviews of the competent critics in the larger cities. A strong company of players are involved during the action of the two acts and laughter runs riot throughout and musical numbers of much renown are sung throughout by people who can sing. The large company is headed by Richy W. Craig, the well known and popular German comedian, assisted by Al Martin, the funny Irish comedian; Lillian Stevens a prima donna with a charming voice and figure divine; I-otta Baker, who can sing and dance her way into the hearts of her auditors; Ben Hilbert, Ethlyn Grace, Neita Harter, and as pretty a bunch of chorus g' 's ever gathered with a musical comedy attraction, who are bedecked in costumes of gorgeous designs.

Stump and William Pelper, commissioners of Noble county, were here today inspecting the new Monroe street St. Mary's river bridge to get pointers to aid them In their bridge work. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gelmer, living about a mile and a half south of town, I are the proud parents of a big baby boy. A baby boy was born this morning to Mr. and Mrs. Tise Raker, living about five miles from town. Both mother and babe are doing fine. ABOUT THE SICK Two Decatur patients at th? St. Joseph hospital, Fort Wayne, were brought home today, being well on the way to recovery. They are Miss Bernardette, daughte- of Peter Forbing, who was operated upon for appendicitis, and Mrs. C. V. Connell, who un derwent an operation for gall stones, and two other complications Miss Eva Dorwin of Lafayette, who has been dangerously ill with peritonitis and complications, shows little improvement. Miss Dorwin is well knwon here, where she formerly lived. ARREST PATENT MEDICINE MEN. (United l*ress Service) Washinfton, D. Among those Included were several in Indiana.ulis, connected with the Duplex Remedy company. Miss Rose Smith went to Geneva this afternoon. Stella Bremerkamp went to Portland this morning to visit a few days with friends. Henry Schumrn of Schumin, Ohio, was here today to consult a physician regarding a sick child of his. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Clymer of Berne were visitors here today, consulting a physician for Mrs. Clymer.
