They returned to this city Sat iurduy evening and Sunday afternoon went to the bride's home where they pmnounced their wedding to her parlents, who forthwith gave their parental blessing. Ezekiel Davis of Jefferson township and Henry Gibbons of near Wabash, Ohio, were here today and called at the Peterson & Moran office, where 1 they closed a deal for -the purchase of Davis’ ninety-acre farm by Gibbons. Thirty acres lies in Jefferson town--1 ship, this county, and sixty acres just ' across the state line. The farm which I was purchased ten years ago by Davis ! for only $3,500, was sold by him today 'for SII,OOO. Mr. Gibbons is a dredge 1 contractor, and has been dredging i lands in Illinois and other w estern 'states. I —- —— did not come. ; The basket ball game that was to be played Tuesday night between De-1 catur an dPortland, was called off on j account of the fact that the Portland . team was laid up somewhere on the road to Decatur. They left Portland in an auto but only got a little ways from home when they met with an accident and by the time they made the repairs it was too late to come to Decatur, so they returned to Portland. In three games played Tuesday night between the White Case tea.n and the Alley team, the Alley team came out of the trial with two games to their credit.
