PETITION FOR MACAMAD ROAD. State of Indiana, County of Adams, ss Before the Board of Commissioners of the County of Adams, June Tenn, 1911 We, the undersigned, each and all of whom are residents, free holders and voters of Adams County. Indiana, and in Saint Mary's township in said county and state, respectfully petition your honorable body that you construct and complete a free macadamized stone road in said Saint Mary's township, Adams County, Indiana, over and upon the public highway laid out and established on and along the following route, to-wit: Commencing at a point on the Decatur and Willshire road, where It crosses the township line between Washington and Saint Mary's township in section eighteen (18) township twenty-seven (27) north range fifteen (15) east, in Adams County, Indiana, running thence southeast on the Decat m and Willshire road through section eighteen (18) and the greater part of section twenty (20) and terminating at the point where the macadam road on said road intersects with the dirt road at the public high way leading east to the river bridge at Pleasant Mills, Indiana, in section twenty (30) township twenty-seven (27) north, range fifteen (15) east in Adams county, Indiana. Said ■ petitioners show that said proposed road when completed will be about one and three-fourths miles in length and will connect with a free gravel and macadamized road at the east end and is located entirely v. itbin Saint Mary's township in said county and state. Said road shall be called the Decatur and Willshire road. Said petitioners further show that a United States mail route passes over the entire length of the road sought to be improved. Said petitioners further ask that said road be built as a double track road, and that it be graded to the width of twenty-six (36) feet and that crushed stone be placed thereon to a width of — feet and that stone screenings be placed on the top of said stone. Said petitioners would further ask that said road be built and improvement made as above described and that to pay for same together with the expenses of location thereof a series of bonds be issued payable in twenty semi-annual installments and that to pay said bonds and interest thereon a tax be levied upon the taxable property of Saint Mary's township. Adams County. Indiana. Said petitioners further show that said proposed road when built will be an extension of the Decatur and Willshire Macadam Road which has been built and established pursuant to law. which is a free macadam road of said, county. Said road has heretofore been voted upon at an election held in St. Mary's township and carried at said election.
Said petitioners further ask that said road be built and such proceedings had as will build and establish and pay said road as provided by the Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, approved March 8. 1905. and as amended by acts of 1907 and any and all other laws authorizing the building of macadam roads.
