County of Adams, ss: Before the Board of Commissioners of the County of Adams. March Term. 1911. We. the undersigned, each and all of whom are resident free holders and voters of Washington Township,, Adams County. Indiana, respectfully pepetition your honorable body and ask that you construct and complete a free macadamized stone road In said Township, over and upon the public highway, situated on the following route, to-wit: Commencing on the macadamized road at the southeast comer of the northeast half (Vi) or section seven (7) in township twenty-seven (27) north range fourteen (14) east, Adams count}- Indiana, thence to run west through said section seven (7) a distance of about one (1) mile and terminating at the township line road, dividing the townships of Washington and Kirkland in said County and State. Your petitioners aver and say that the improvement prayed for is lees than three miles in length and connects at one end with a free macadam road within said Washington Township, and at the other end with the township line. Your petitioners further aver and say that the highway herein sought to be improved is one of the public highways already laid out and established in said Washington Township. Your petitioners ask your honorable body that the said highway above described be drained and graded and that broken stone be placed upon the grade and that upon such broken stone there be placed stone screenings and that this improvement be made exclusively of crushed stone and screenings. Your petitioners further ask that said highway above described be improved to the width to which it is now established, that being about forty (40) feet and that said highway be graded to a width of twenty-four (24) feet and that broken stone be placed thereon to a width of ten (10) feet, and to the depth of eight (8) inches at the sides thereof and to a depth of ten (10) inches in the center thereof, and that crushed stone screenings be placed thereon to a depth of four (4) inches upon such broken stone, and that said improvement be made a double track road, that the same be called and known as the Egly-Nyffler Macadam Road. Your petitioners further ask that to pay for said road.bonds be issued by the County of Adams, in the State of Indiana. payable in twenty (20) semi-an-nual installments or series, and for the payments of which we ask that a tax be levied upon the taxable property of said Washington township, in a sufficient amount to pay the interest and principal of said bond as they become due. Indiana, petition your honorable body that you construct and complete a free macadamized stone road in said Township over and upon the public highway situated on the following route, to-wit. Commencing at the northwest corner of section twenty-six (26) township twenty-seven (27) north range fourteen (14) east in Adams coun }, Indiana, running thence east over and upon the public highway dividing sections twenty-three (23) and twenty-six (26) township and range aforesaid and terminating at the northeast corner of said section twenty-six (-0) township and range aforesaid. Your petitioners say that the improvement prayed for is less than three miles in length, connects at both ends with a free macadam road in said township and that a I nited States rural mail route passes over the highway sought to be improved. Elzey, named therein as executor and was duly appointed. The will was written March 4th last and provides that after the debts are paid and a S2OO monument erected, that her property be sold and that the proceeds thereof be divided equally between her sisters Sarah Elzey. Delia Ann Curtis and her brother Isaac Garritson, the two latter living in Utah. DREW ATTENTION OF MANY. The fire alarm, sounded for the first time at noon today, attracted the attenion of many,, who at first thought there was a fire. But upon inquiry were told that it was the rule adopted by the city at the council meeting to have same blown every noon to keep the whistle in better working order in case of a fire. MERCHANTS’ DELIVERY. Starts Today—Merchants Well Pleased With Success of Venture. Monday bright and early the new delivery was put in operation in this city. Two of the new wagons have arrived and are of the latest pattern. The gears and body are of a slate color, while the top is trimmed in red. with a white panel neatly lettered. Several other wagons were pressed into service until the other wagons arrive. There will be four wagons to cover the town and each wagon covers its route four times each day, and on Saturday five trips will be made. The merchants are well pleased with the way the new system started out this morning, as no hitches of any sort were experienced. This is criminal week in circuit court and something like thirty cases are set for trial. Monday with Prosecutor Parrish in the harness for his first criminal case in that court, the case against Harry Straub, charged with burglarizing the Laman &• Lee hardware store on the night of October Ist, was begun. L. C. DeVoss is defending. The following jury was empanelled: James Stoler, Michael Miller Forest Runyon,George Shrank, Marion Kelley, George Brown, James Shaw, Curtis Cline. H. M. Mathewson, Frank Trenary, Frank Mock and William Brown. The case of the State vs. John Kratner and Mary Deiner, living in fornication, has been reset for trial Feb. 17 and will be heard by D. E. Smith as special judge. McAdams & Hartzell, attorneys appear for the plaintiff in a case filed here on a change of venue from Fort Wayne, Odie Ross vs. Samuel Ross and Berghoff Brewing Co., divorce, alimony in the sum of f!500 and the care and custody of one of the three children. The defendant is enjoined from interfering with his wife or disposing of any property. L. C. DeVoss appears for the defendant. Charles Page vs. Christena R. Sam and John FYihrman, two of Root • township's prominent farmers; are twin brothers who enjoy one of ths same distinctions that Abraham Lincoln did —that of being born on February 12th. Sunday marked the fortyninth anniversary of their arrival in this world, and as this event is celebrated annually by the brothers, at the home of each in turn, this year was no exception, however, the celebration was given over to Saturday, the families of the brothers, with r number of other relatives, being entertained Saturday evening at supper at the John Fuhrman home. Other guests were Oscar FYitzinger and family, George Dutcher and Mrs. Minnie Lewton and children. But the celebration did not end with the good supper enjoyed by the family circle. . About H thirty of the neighbors planned to car- ■ ry on the celebration, and mustering their forces swooped down upon the Enhrman home, where they spent a Ox ? tuning.
