OF MARRIAGE. • Tke baits ot Matrimony were published tor the first time Sunday at the St. Mary a caurch between Joseph Spangler. ron of Mr. and Mrs John Spangler, from east ot the city, and Mis* Clara Ulman of Bryant. Ind. The bans of Mias Mary Geimer and Mr. Frank Bentx was also announced. for the third time. The wedding will take place on Wednesday Borting at $ o'clock front the St. Mary a church. Tom Baker, of Marion, nntil a few years ago a prominent resident of thia city, died Sunday night between 11; o'clock and the midnight hour at his home at Marton from an attack of ( paralysis of the Drain. Mr Baker had . been dangerously sick since Thursday night, when his brothers. Phil and Will ot this city were summoned to his bedside, leaving here Friday morning. they being with him when he passed away. The news of his death was received here by telephone message this morning by his niece. Mrs. Charles Rim-' hart The body will be brought to this eity for the funeral services and bur-' ial, and will arrive here tomorrow ? noon over the Clever Leaf. The remains will be taken to the h. me of his brother. William Baker. on Seventh street, and the funeral will be held, Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Methodist church. Mr. Baker was about fifty years et age. and leaves a widow, Emma Bak-. er, and six children The children are | Frances, Ora. Ivan. Adrian. Floyd and; Lloyd, the last two named being twins. The news erf his sudden death comes as an unexpected sheek to his first of relatives and friends here • - - John Sullivan, a resident of this city and who has been making his home' with his brother. James H. Sullivan. on Twelfth street for s.-me time, passed sway into that sleep of death at j 7:3-? Sunday evening been asSided with that dreaded disease, tu- i betculoeis. which caused his demise , He was a sin -f tie late Timothy Sullivan, bcm and raised in this county, where his father owned a farm sooth of the city. A number of years ago be left the city and for the past six years has ' bees working at Fort Wayne. The ill-> ness had been steadily growing on him and six months ago be wrote his -. brother here, who bad him come and i?ike his home with him. After his j return, he seemed to improve s-ime-1 what and was able to be down street I but be soon took a su-ifeu change and ' graduaLy grew worse unti relieved by death. He was fitty-fonr years of age and unmarried, and leaves one brother, James, with whom be has been staying, to mosrn his loss. Mrs. Kaehler is very much pleased with the country and reports that tie past four weeks have beet focr of tie mast pleasant of her life She is espeetaliy delighted with the hospitality and unity ot the southern people, and •taxed that the visit there was one continual round of pleasure. Among the many social events riven in her honor was a delightful party given last Friday by Mm Bert Lynch, the guests nnmbermg oee hundred thirtyfive The weather is delightfully warm and while wraps and furs are worn to a certain extent, on the cooler days. Mrs. Koehler stated that she would have been perfectly comfortable without a wrap Last Friday thev even went out dftttng without cloaks or hats.. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Johnson were royal entertainers at dinner and sapper Sunday, those sharing tie pleasures cf the day being Mr. and Mrs. Andy. Zese- and children. Peter Leser and daughters. Miss Clara and Mrs. The res* Schafer, and two sees. Will and Dan Zeser: John Niblock and Miss Anna Leic-htly. During the social evening mnsic rendered by Miss Le*c.’i*ly was much appreciated. Miss Raby MiHer entertained the Entre Nobs club, embroidery work demanding their attention during the fore part of the evening, this being laid aside later for a delightful flower contest and Instcheos.
