' Notice la hereby given that the taxes levied for the State, County, School and other purposes In Adams County, Indiana, are due and payable at the Treasurer’s Office in said County in the City, of Decatur in full V |||L. or at option of tax-payer, one-half, including road taxes In full, on orbefdre the FIRST MONDAY IN MAY, 1909, the same being * Monday, May 3d, 1909 The second half (in case the first half is paid when due) becomes due and payable on, or before the FIRST MONDAY IN NOVEMBER, 1908, the same being Monday November, I, 1909 The following table shows the rate of taxation on each ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR’S WORTH OF PROPERTY, also on each POLL In the several Townships and Corporations in Addms County, Indiana for the year 1908. Road tax receipts will not be taken for the second installment of taxes. Examine your receipts before leaving the office, and see that all your property is described. Also see that change is correctly made. 7~~ —Particular Attention —— -A z W ’ Those who have lands and lots, or other property, in more than one township, must see that they have a receipt for all. County Orders cannot be paid to any person owing delinquent taxes. All persons are warned against purchasing such orders. •'7^.X '!■ The Books will POSITIVELY BE CLOSED on the FIRST MONDAY IN MAY and the FIRST MONDAY IN NOVEMBER. ’ Z Assignees, Guardians .Administrators, and others, who pay taxes on property in trust, and persons whose taxes are complicated, such as individual estates, are earnetly requested to come before the lafet few days. The taxee of the Decatur and Bluffton, East Washington, Decatur and Monroe, West Washington, Geneva, Ceylon and Wabash Township and Joel Hirschy, Monroe Township Central, Pleasant Valley and Oak Grove, d Peterson and Prairie and West Jefferson Township gravel roads; William Shoemaker gravel road, p. E. Bollinger gravel road, Kirkland Township Central gravel road, South Jefferson gravel road. North St. Mays gravel W road, South St. Mary’s gravel road, West Pleasant Mills gravel road, Decatur and Preble grvel road, and Brushwood College grave road, and all of the extension macadam roads are now due aid payable at this office and are ■ subject to the same penalties as other taxes if not paid. \ municipal taxes of the City of Decatur, and the towns of Berne and Geneva are payable at thlsoffice. ' ' . , The ANNUAL SALE OF DELINQUENT LANDS AND LOTS will take place on the SECOND MONDAY IN FEBRUARY, 1909, it 10 o’clock a. m. 1 Persons Delinquent Taxes should pay them at once. The law is of such a character that there is option left for the Treasurer but to enforce the collection of delinquent taxes, hwever much he may regret to collect the same by sale or property. f The Owner of Property on the First Day of March, shall be Considered as the Owner on that Day.. (Sec. 103.) —— Corporation Dog Tax —■— There is Levied |2.00 on each Male Dog, and 15.00 on each'Female Dog in the city of Decatur; and >I.OO on each Male Doi, and |2.00 on each Female Dog, in the town of Berne, and H-00 on each Male Dog and $2 00 « ’ on each Female Dog in the town of Geneva. ) a . ’ 3 The Treasurer will not be responsible for Penalties and Charges on Delinquent Taxes resulting'from any omissions of the person paying such taxes to state definitely on what property, in whose name and what township or corporation it was assessed. t • Call for Property in Name of Owner March 1, 1908.
