LEGAL ADVERTISING. PETITION FOR STONE ROAD. State of Indiana. County of Adams, ss: Before the Board of Commissioners of the county of Adams, July Term. 1908. The undersigned petitioners, who ane resident freeholders and voters tn the townships of Hartford and Wabash, respectively, in the county of Adams, and State of Indiana, respectfully petition your Honorable Body to cause to be built, constructed and completed a double track crushed stone road over, upon and along the following described route, to-wit: Commencing at the southeast corner of the northeast quarter of section twenty-four (24), township twentyfive (25) north, range thirteen east, on the township line between the township of Hartford and Wabash in Adams county, in the State of Indiana, at a point in the public highway on the north side of a free improved gravel road; thence running north on and along said public highway between the townships of Hartford and Wabash to the public highway at the northeast corner of the southeast quarter of section thirteen in township twenty-five north, range thirteen east; thence running west on and along the public highway on the half section line running east and tvest through section thirteen, township twenty five north, range thirteen east, to the west boundary line of said section thirteen, and to the free improved gravel road on said west line of said section thirteen township twenty-five north, range thirteen east, and there to terminate. The entire length of said proposed improvement being two miles, more or less. Your said petitioners also state and show that, rhe said public highway on the said township line between the townships of Hartford and Wabash, as heretofore located and established is thirty-two feet wide only; and also that said public highway on the half section line running east and west through the center of said section thirteen. township twenty-five north, range thirteen east, as heretofore established and constructed is thirty-two feet wide: and that to properly build, construct and complete the improvement of the said two highways herein prayed for. the said two public highways should be each enlarged and widened to the width of forty feet by extending the width of each of said highways four feet on .each side thereof, and that said proposed widening and change of said two highways from thirty-rwo feet to forty feet will be of public utility and such width of forty feet is necessary to properly grade, drain and macadamize the same as prayed for herein. And your petitioners therefore pray that your Honorable Body take such stfps as jnay be necessary to so change and widen said two public highways as by law provided; and your petitioners ask that said two highways as so widened be drained and graded to the full width of forty feet and w e recommend that the crushed stone portion of said improvement be made fourteen feet in width and dressed on top with stone screenings and be placed on the west side of said first mile of improved road, and on south side of the second mile of said improved road. Said road to be known as the L. O. Bears extension No. 1. We further ask that bonds be issued for the payment for the cost of such improved road and that a tax be levied upon said townships for the payment thereof as provided by law' in such improvements. We further ask that said improveent be established, ordered and constructed without submitting the question of the building of the same to an election of the voters of said townships of Hartford and Wabash and for any further necessary order in the premises.
