MISS STUBBS AFTER OFFICE Proposes to be Elected to the Office of State Statistician. Indianapolis, October 9. —Mtes Marj Stubbs, state statistician, has at least three men in Indiana worrying very much these days. One of them is Cbarlei Lambert, of Muscle, another is J. L. Peetz, of Kokomo, and the third John Warbrittcn. of Crawfordsville. They all want her job after the next state election, and she is trying to show them that they can't have it for she is determined to be re-elect-ed. They all claim she can’t be elected on the ground that the constitution says a woman can't be elected in this state. She has appealed to State Attorney General Bingham to give a written opinion on her right to run for an elective office. Miss Stubbs was appointed by Governor Hanly In December, 1906. to fill the unexpired term of her father, the late Joseph Stubbs, and to fill his term, for which he was reelected tn November, 1906. The male candidates claim she can fill the appointment, but can not be elected, to the constitution. Trial treatments are bemg mailed out free, oa request, by Dr. Shoop Racine. Wis.
