THE LAW IS NOT SO BAD. Both Applicants Don’t Have to Appear to Get Marriage License. The present law regulating the issuing of marriage licenses, so obnoxious to those matrimonially inclined on account of the belief that both parties to the contract have to appear before the county clerk and be cross examined by that official, is not so bad after all as a new interpretation has been placed upon it by a member of the state board of health. When the bill was first proposed it was for the purpose of correcting the old law which allowed many persons to get married who were physically uqfit and while many now get licenses who should not have them the restriction throws a stumbling block in the way and has dome a great deal of good. The obnoxious part of the requirements was the appearance of the parties before the-clerk, many young ladies strenuously objecting to going to a public office, subjecting themselves to the gaze of a curious public and answering a list of questions longer than Is necessary for entrance to the U. S. army. To be properly informed in the matter a clerk has written to a member of the state board of health with the subsequent interpretation of the law that both parties do not have to appear but can send for an application, have it properly filled out, the affidavit taken by a notary and can send the troublesome little brother or the hired man after the license. Several young ladies who refused j their consent to marriage solely on I account of this will no doubt be pleas- • ed with the new; definition of the law and. will now pipceed to get their weddipgclothes.ready o- —- ■ ■ . & 1 Miss Mayme Deininger left, this morning for Cleveland, ©./where she will get the latest ideas on Easter hats? ... ■ i-'. , . The freight system on the interurban railway was inaugurated this morning and the car that made the round trip between this city and Fort Wayne was well loadedr The down car carried a load of flour while the incoming car carried a load of fruit and other staple goods consigned to the various merchants of our city. That this system will be a success is an assured fact from the manner in which the business men have already commenced to patronize the same.
IT’S YOUR KIDNEYS. Don’t Mistake the Cause of Your Troubles —A Decatur Citizen Shows How to Cure Them. Many people never suspect their kidneys. If suffering from a lame, weak or aching back they think that it is only a muscular weakness; when urinary trouble sets in they think it will soon correct itself. And so it is that with all the other symptoms of. kidney disorders. That is just where the danger lies. You must cure these troubles or they lead to diabetes or Bright’s disease. The best remedy to use is Doan’s Kidney Pills. _ It cures all ills which are caused by weak or diseased kidneys. Decatur people testify to permanent cures. Sam Ruggles, living about three miles south of Decatur on the road to Willshire, says: “I suffered for several years with what I thought was rheumatism. At times, I thought that every bone in my body ached and it was with difficulty that I could get around. I was so sore right across the small of my back and so weak that I was in constant misery. At times it became so severe that I could not leave the house. Stooping caused me agony and when I straightened again I suffered more. I consulted several doctors and used their medicines and applied liniment without benefit and I continued to get worse and worse. One day while in Decatur, I was complaining to a friend of mine, and he advised me to get Doan’s Kidney. Pills, saying that they had cured him of severe trouble. I got a box at the Holthouse z Drug Co.’s store and before I had used all of them, I could walk around without a support ahd I continued using the remedy until all the aching, weakness, and soreness was removed and I felt well and strong again. I have not had any trouble wth my kidneys since I used Doan’s Kidney Pills and I can go out and work as well as. I ever could. I feel like a new man.” For sale by all dealers. Price 59 cents.
