MRS., CHARLES ROE IS DEAD Was Well Known Lady of Pleasant Mills. Mrs. Ida D. Roe. wif<Rof Charles C. Roe of Pleasant Mills, died this morning at eight o’clock after an illness of a year, death resulting from tuberculosis. She was born in St. Marys township twenty-six years ago, and had practically 'made that her home all her life. She was a popular young lady and had a host of friends who will be grieved to learn of her death. She was a member of thd M. E. church at Pleasant Mills from where the funeral services will be held Friday afternoon nt one ■o'clo'S: She was a devoted Christian and church worker. To the Board of Commissioners of Adams County, Indiana: We, the undersigned, all and each of us resident free holders of Hartford township, in Adams county, Indiana, most respectfully petition your honorable body to cause to be built and constructed a stone road on and along the following route, to-wit: Commencing on half section line running east and west through section thirty-five in Township twenty-five north, range thirteefi east, at the east line of said section thirty-five, in a public highway, connecting with the Brushwood College Macadam road at that point, thence west on said half section line and over said highway to the center of section thirty-four, thence north on the half section line and over public highway to the Pontius free gravel road, all in township and range first herein named, and there to terminate, a total distance of two and onehalf miles in length. Said proposed road will run between sections 36 and 25 in said Preble township and sections 30 and 31 in Root township in said county rand State Said road shall be called the Root & ..Preble Township Line Macadam Road No. 1. To the Boar of Commissioners of Adams County, Indiana: We ,the undersigned, all and each of us freeholders of Root township, in Adams county, Indiana, most respectfully petition your honorable body to cause to be built and constructed a stone road on and along the following route to-wit: Commencing at the northwest corner of the southwest quarter of section twenty-nine, township twenty-eight north, range fourteen east, in Adams county, Indiana extending thence north over and along the public highway between the north half of sections twen-ty-nine 'hnd thirty, and between sections nineteen and twenty, to a point where said highway turns in. a northeasterly direction, thence in a northeasterly direction to a point where said highway intersects with the Ossian in section twenty, township and range aforesaid. The above improvement as prayed for is less than three miles in length and connects at each end with an im jnroved free gravel road in said townshin. Your petitioners further ask that said road as above described be graded to a width of 24 feet and that broken stone be placed thereon to a width of ten feet, and to a depth of ten inches in the center thereof and to a depth of eight inches at the sides thereof, and that crushed be placed thereon to a depth of four inches upon said broken stone. Thst the name of said road above described shall be called The Winchester Road Extension No. 2. To the Board of Commissioners of Adams County, Indiana: < We, the undersigned, all add each of us resident freeholders of Root township in Adams County, Indiana, most respectfully petition your honorable body to cause to be built and constructed a macadamized road on and along the following route, to-wit: Commencing at the northwest corner of section eight township twenty-eight north, range fourteen east, running thence east over and along the public highway for a distance of two and sev-en-eighths miles between section five and eight and sections four and nine and sections three and ten, township twenty-eight north, range fourteen east and terminating at the northeast corner of section ten. township twentyeight north, range fourteen east. The above improvement as prayed for is less than three miles in length and connects at each end with an improved free gravel road in Root township. Your petitioners further ask your honorable body that said highway above described be graded and that broken stone be placed upon the grade, and that upon such broken stone there be placed stone screenings and that there be built, made and constructed upon said highway what is known as a macadamized road, and your petitioners further show that the public highwav thus sought to be improved is a public highway already establishd, is what is known as a dirt road, and is one of the public highways of said Root town sb in. Your netltioners further ask that said road as above described be graded to a width of twenty-two feet and * that broken stone be placed thereon, to a width of ten feet and to a depth of ten inches in the center thereof and to a depth of eight inches at the sides thereof, and that crushed stone screenings be nlaced thereon to a depth of three inches, upon said broken stone. That said mad be constructed as a single track, the same to be made of crushed stone and stone screenings placed thereon. That the name of said road above described shall be called the Harmon Reiter and Henry W. Bui- . mahn Macadam Road extension.
