To the Board of Commissioners of Adams County: We the undersigned all~resrdent freeholders and voters of Wabash Township in the County of Adams and State of Indiana/ would most respectfully ask W to take. a u necessary steps to cause to be graaea, drained and paved with crushed sto “®. the highway already laid out and established on and along the following route, to-wit: - , Commencing at the section line between- sections fourteen (16) and twen-ty-three (23) township twenty-five t-5) north, range fourteen (14), east at the north-east corner of the north-west quarter of said section <23) thence south along the middle line ot said section twenty-three (23. to the north-east corner of the northwest quarter of section twenty-six township twenty-five north, range fourteen (14) -east, one mile, thence south along the middle line of said section twenty-six (26) township and range aforesaid to the south-east corner of the south-west quarter of said section twenty-six, township twentyfive (25) range fourteen (14) east, and there to terminate. Skid petitioners would further show that the above road when completed -will be about two (2) miles in length and shall be called the L. Rape Macadam road. Said petitioners would further show that It would he practicable to build said road as a double track road and that the same be graded to a width of twenty-five ' (25) feet and that crushed, stone crushed to one-inch size be placed thereon to the width of ten feet, With stone screenings placed on top of said stone. Said petitioners ask that the crushed stone placed shall be the depth of " ' eight (8) inches and the screenings placed thereon shall be placed to a depth of four (4) inches. i Said petitioners further ask that ' said road be .built and that to pay for [ same, bonds be issued payable in twenty semi-annual installments and to pay said bonds, together with the interest thereon and the costs of location a tax be levied upon the taxable property of Wabash township, Adams County, In- . diana. • [ Said petitioners would further show , that said road when completed will j connect at the southern extremity with i Wm. To the Honorable Board of Commissioners of Adams County, Indiana: We, the undersigned all resident free holders and voters of Root ownship and of Union township, in Adams county, Indiana, would most respectfully petition your honorable body, to cause to be built a stone road, on and along the following route, to-wit: Commencing at the south-east corn,er ot section twenty-five «25) township twenty-eight (28) north, range fourteen (14) east, at the place where 1 the township line between Root and Union township aforesaid crosses the : public highway on the south line of said section thirty (30) township twen-lty-‘ight (28) north, range fifteen (15) east. -1 —That there is now a public highway extending north between said townships from said beginning point, and , your petitioners now petition your i honorable body that said stone road : be constructed upon said public highway to a point north of said beginning point continuously on said Township line and public highway for a distance of two miles ending at the public highway which crosses said township line road, at the north-east corner of section twenty-four (24), township twenty-eight (28) north, range four- ; teen (14) east, and there to terminate on said section line, being two miles • in length. We ask that said improvements shall be paid’ for by bonds issued by the County of Adams, in the State of Indiana, payable in twenty semi-an-nual .installm-mts, or series, and for the payment <.t which we ask that a tax be levied upon the taxable property of Root township and Union township, in Adams County, Indiana, in a . sufficient amount to pay the interest and principal of said bonds as they may become aue. That the saia road be built and that said bonds be issued, and that said tax be levied, upon said property of said townships, in accordance with the Acts of the Legislature of the State of Indiana, now in force and passed in the year 1905, as appears in the Acts of 1905, page 550. further ask that the board take the different steps lequired by law without submitting the question of bunding the same to an election in said townships. The above bulkheads shall be built of concrete composed of one (1) part good Portland cement, two (2) parts clean, sharp sand and three (3) parts crushed stone. Where Stone Is unloaded all coarser particles s'hall be raked to the bottom. \ Said etone shall be equp.l so the product of the Linn Grove or Decatur quarries. STIPULATIONS. The work as it progresses will be laid out by the engineer, and stakes set by him must be -preserved. • The materia’ for the various improvements shall be on the ground before the old material is removed. The Board of Commissioners, the engineer and superintendeht reserve the right to inspect the material used and condemn the same if necessary and all material so condemned shall be removed from the right-of-way and not used at any time in the construction of said improvement It is expressly understood that the contractor- is not compelled to place in any tile, culverts, bridges or approaches at any private lane or cross- j ing, road, etc., and if any fence, post, • I or similar matter be within the limits J of the right-of-way of the proposed N improvement is oot removed by the I party to whom they belong after hav- 1 ing had sufficient notice then (he con- I tractor shall remove the same.
