Legal Advertising MACADAM ROAD PETITION State of Indiana. County of Adatnr. In the Commissioners’ Court of Adams county. Lafayette Rape, et al. ex Parte. Petition for Macadam Road. To the Board of Commissioners of Adams County: We the undersigned all resident freeholders and voters of Wabash Township in the County of Adams and State of Indiana, would most respectfully ask your honorable body to take .all necessary steps, to cause to be graded, drained and paved with crushed stone, the highway already laid out and established on and along the following route, to-wit: Commencing at the section line between sections fourteen (14) and twen-ty-three (23) township twenty-five (25) north, range fourteen (14) east at the north-east corner of the north-west quarter of said section twenty-three (23) thence south along the middle line of said section twenty-three (23) to the north-east corner of the northwest quarter of section twenty-six township twenty-five north, range fourteen (14) east, one mile, thence south along the middle line of said section twenty-six (26) township and range aforesaid to the south-east corner of the south-west quarter of said section twenty-six, township twentyfive (25) range fourteen (14) east, and there -to terminate. Said petitioners would further show that the above road ■when completed will be about two (2) miles in length and shall be called the L. Rape Mac% dam road. ’ Said petitioners would further shqw that it would be practicable to build said road as a double track road and that the same be graded to a width of twenty-five (25) feet and that crushed stone crushed to one-inch size* be placed thereon to the width of ten feet, with stone screenings placed on top of said stone. • Said petitioners ask that the crushed stone placed shall be the depth of eight (8) inches and the screenings placed- thereon shall be placed to a depth of four (4) inches. Said petitioners further ask that said road be built and that to pay for same, bonds be issued payable in twenty semi-annual installments and to pay said bonds, together with the interest thereon and the costs of location a tax be levied upon the taxable property of Wabash township, Adams County, Indiana. Said petitioners would further show that said road when completed will copnect at the southern extremity with Wm. Burk Gravel Road and at the northern extremity with the extension No. 2 of the Geneva, Ceylon & Wabati Township Macadam Road, both of which are free gravel roads. Said petitioners, would further show that sajd road be by said Commissioners ordered constructed without first submitting question of building same to a vote of the voters of said Wabash township, and that such proceedings be had to build and establish the same as provided by the Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, as approved March 8, 1905. Ceylon & Wabash Township No. 3, macadam road in Wabash township Adams county, Indiana, the entire issue of bonds for said road being in the sum of $7,486, being in twenty (20) semi-annual payments bearing the date of May 15, 1906, and each bond being In the sum of $374.00, with 4% per cent, interest, payable semi-annually with coupons attached. Sealed bids will be received until 10 o'clock a. m. of said day. PETITION FOR MACADAM HOAD. To the Honorable Board of Uonrmissioners of Adajns County, Indiana: We the undersigned all resident freeholders and voters of Root township, Adams county, Indiana, and of Madison township, in Ailen county, most respectfully petition your able board, to cause to be built and constructed a stone road, on and along the following rofite, to-wit: Commencing at the north-west corner of section six (6), township twentyeight (28) north, range fourteen (14) east, running thence eaat on the public highway known as the County line road, a distance of one mile and terminating at the north-east corner of section six (6) township twenty-eight (28) north, range fourteen (14) east, the road thus sought to be improved and macadamized is on the line dividing Adams county, Indiana, and Allen county, Indiana, and is a part of the ’highway at the. south side of-Madfse® township in Allen county, Indiana and sajd highway is at the north lipe of Root township, in Adams .county, Indiana, the said highway thus sought to be improved at the commencement thereof is conected with a free gravel, road known as the Koennemann Gravel Road, and at the terminus of said highway thus sought to be improved connects and is connected with the free gravel road known as the Williama Branch gravel road. Said highway thus sought to be improved is an unimproved highway and does not exceed three milis in length. Your petitioners further ask your honorable body that said highway above described be graded and drained -and that broken stone be placed upon jthe grade and that there be built, constructed and made upon said highway what .is known as a “Macadamized Road.” And your petitioners further show that the public highway sought to be improved -is a public highway already established and is what is known as a dirt road and is situated as above described on the line dividing Adams and Alien counties, in tha state of Indiana. Your petitioners further ask that said road as above described be graded to a width of twenty-two feet and that the broken stone be placed thereon te a width of ten feet, and to a depth often inches in the center thereof, and eight Inches at the sides. The name of the said road above described shall be called the Joint Root and Madison Township Road. We ask that said improvement shall be paid for by bonds issued by the counties of Allen and Adams in the state of Indiana, payable in twenty semf-annual installments or series for the payment of which we ask that a tax-be levied upon the taxable property’ of Root township, in Adams county, and upon th£ taxable property of Madison township, in Allen county, Indiana, in a sufficient amount to pay the interest and principal of said bonds as they may become due. That said road be btiilt, and that said bonds be issued, and that said taxe be levied upon said property of said township, heretofore; mentioned in accordance with the Acts of the Legislature of the State of Indi-:-ana, now In force and passed in the; year 1905. as appears in the Acts off 1905, page 493, and approved March: 7, 1905.
