L. O. BEARS EXTENSION NO. TWO, MACADAM ROAD. To the Honorable Board of Commissioners of Adams County. Indiana: We, the undersigned viewers and engineer appointed by your Honorable Board at the April term, 1906, and in puruance to the. within order of said petition would most respectfully submit me following report In pursuance to said order, we, J. T. Kelley and Thomas Baltzell, as viewers and L. L. Baumgartner, as engineer, met at the office of Hirschy & Winteregg in Berne, Indiana, and afer being duly sworn as prescribed by law we prceed to lay out and straighten said road as shown by that part of our report which is marked exhibit "A,” and which report shows the route of the proposed road. Also a profile showing the grade of road as established and showing "cuts and fills,” also location of drains and •sewers; said profile is marked exhibit “B,” the same being on file in the offlee of the Auditor of Adams County Indiana. We further find that the above improvement in accordance with the plans and specifications herein set forth would be of public benefit and utility. We further find no claims for damages of any kind whatever. We further estimate the cost of the proposed improvement to be $3763. DESCRIPTION OF THE L. O. BEAR'S EXTENSION NO. TWO. MACADAM ROAD. Commencing at the center of section twnty-one (21) in township twentyfive (25) north, range thirteen (13) east in Adams county, Indiana at the terminus of a free gravel road running north from that point, thence to run south on the half section line through the south half of said section twenty-one and thence .through all of section twenty-eight (28) to the. south boundary of said section in said township and range, to the free gravel road and there to terminate. The length of the proposed road is 7950 feet or 1.51 miles. ROADWAY, GRADE, ETC. The roadway must be clear of all fences, trees, stumps, logs and all rubbish of whatsoever nature it may be. All stumps must be either grubbed or blasted out in the drains or on the grade. The right-of-way shall be forty (40) feet in width. If at any time during the construc- • oau'eidaooß in try eqi aaojaq jo jo uor of the same the grade should settle the contractor shall fill all depressions and restore the same to the original specifications The grade shall be of the double track system of a uniform width of • twenty-six (26) feet from shoulder to shoulder with a slope of four (4) inches from center to either side (except as hereinafter stated.) — ~~— The subgrade shall be rolled by the contractor at such times and places as may be deemed necessary by the superintendent or engineer with a roller of not less than six <6) ton* in weight before placing any stoMe thereon. The roadbed shall be made in a smooth and workmanlike manner and inspected and accepted in 1000 feet sections before any material is placed thereon. A Grade and line stakes set by the engineer and destroyed by the contractor through negligence will be set ■ • again at thd cntractor’s expense. DRAINS. .The side drains shall be cut not less than eighteen -(18) inches below the hip of the grade. ? All drains to be constructd in a neat and workmanlike manner with sufficient fall and outlet to carry all the watr that may accumulate therein and remove the same from the highway. SEWERS. , Cast iron sewers shall be placed at the following stations: At station 9 plus 30, one 10” cast iron sewer 26 feet long. At station 20, one S” cast iron sewer 26 feet long. At station 23 plus 90, one 10” cast iron sewer, 26 feet long. At station 26 plus 70, one ten” cast iron sewer. 26 feet long. At station 32, one 10” cast iron sewer 26 feet long. At station 50, one 8” cast iron sewer 26 feet long. At station 62, one 10” cast iron, sewer 1 26 feet long. 1- At station 79 plus JO one 16” cast iron J sewer, 26 feet long. BULKHEADS. The contractor shall build bulkheads at each end of the above sewers composed of one part Bronson’s Portland I cement, one part clean, sharp sand and two parts of crushed stone; all parts 1 nf said stone that will not pass through a two-inch ring shall not be I used in said concrete. All bulkheads shall cmmence eighteen (18) inchps below the pipe and extend six (6) inches above the surface of the stone placed on the roadbed and shall be fifteen (15) / inches thick and extend eighteen (18) inches on each side of the pipe. I - , WELLS. There shall be wells placed at the . following places: At station 9 plus 30, two wells, one on I each side of the grade. At station 67 plus 50,‘two wells, one on each side of the grade. Said stone shall be equal to the product of the Linn Grove, or Decatur quarries. STIPULATIONS. The work as it progresses will be laid out by. the engineer and stakes set by him must be preserved. The material for the various improvements shall be on’the ground at the place of improvement before the old materials are removed. The Board of County Commissioners, the Engineer and the Superintendent reserve the right to inspect the materials used and condemn the same if necessary and all the materials so condemned shall be removed from the right-of-way and not jjsed at any time in the construction of said improvement. Corner stones, landmarks, etc., must be respected by the contractor while making said improvments. It is expressly understood that the contractor is not compelled to place in any tile, culverts, bridges or approaches at any private lane, crossing, road, etc., and if any fence, post or similar matter be- within the limits of the right-of-way of the proposed improvement is not removed by the party to whom they belong after having had sufficient notice, then the contractor shall remove the same. It is expressly understood that when the time comes for accepting the road the contractor shall ’have the, side drains in good condition and shall have scraped in the stone and leveled the entire road and have in all respects complied with the specifications. PAYMENTS. Al Ipayments for said improvements will be paid for in cash at the Treasurer’s office in the city of Decatur, Indiana, on estimates made by the engineer complying in all respects with the Acts of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, approved March 8, 1905. ONE. .(East Part.) Commencing at the south-west corner of section two (2) township twentysix (26) north, range thirteen (13) east, Adams County, Indiana, thence running east on the public highway between sections two (2) and eleven (11) and also section one (1) and twelve (12) to the south-east corner of section one (1) and there to terminate; said portion of said road to be known and designated hereafter as the “east part.” (West Part.) Commencing at the south-west corner of section three (3) township twen-ty-six (26) north, range thirteen (13) east, Adams County, Indiana, thence "•uniting east on the public highway between sections three (3) and ten (10) to the south-east corner of said section three (3) and there to terminate and to be known and designated hereinafter as “west part” The length of the proposed road is (west part, 5050 feet)-, (east part, 10 - 551 feet), 15601 feet or 2.95 miles. - ROADWAY, GRADE, ETC. Station 3 plus 50, an 8” tile. Station 29, a 6” tile. Sation 36 plus 80, a 6” tile. ■Station 47 plus 10, a 10” cast iron sewer. East part— Station 8 plus 30, a 10” cast iron sewer. Station 13, a 6" tile. Station 24, a 6” tile. Station 27, a 6” tile. Station 44 plus 60, a 10” cast iron sewer. Station 66 plus 38, an 8” tile. Station 77 plus 30, an 8” tile. Station 85, a 6” tile. Station 92, a 10” cast iron sewer. Station 102, a 6” tile. The open ditch located on the “west part” and on the north side of the road shall be moved north to the edge of the right-of-way by excavating the earth and placing same on the right-of-way; said new ditch shall in all respects conform in depth and width to the original specifications of the ditch. The sewer tile on “west part” at station IS plus 30 shall be lowered to grade hereinafter given by the engineer and the contractor shall also replace all broke tile with first-class sewer tile of the dimension of those now in. • SEWERS. Cast iron sewers shall be placed at the following stations: ( At station (west part) 40 plus 25 a 14” cast iron sewer 26 feet long. At station (west part) 50 plus 40, a 20” cast iron sewer, 26 feet long. At station (east part) 59 plus 70, a 16” cast iron sewer 26 feet long. At station (east part) 105, an 8” cast iron sewer, 26 feet long. BULKHEADS. The contractor shall build bulkheads at each find of the above sewers composed of one part Bronson’s Portland cement, one part clean, sharp sand and two parts of crushed stone; all parts of said stone that will not pass through a two-inch ring shall not be used in said concrete. All bulkheads shall commence eighteen (18) inches below the pipe and etend six (6) inches above thd surface of the stone placed on the road-bed and shall be fifteen (15) inches thick and extend eighteen inches on each side of the pipe except as hereinafter stated. The bulkheads for the 16" sewer at station 59 plus 70 on the east part and the 20” sewer at station 50 plus 40 on the west part shall extend three (3) feet on each side of the pipe. WELLS. There shall be wells placed at the following places: West part— At station 3 plus 50, two wells, one on each side of the grade. At station 36 plus 80, two wells, one on each side of the grade. At station 47 plus 10, two wells, one on each side of the gradeEast part— At station 8 plus 30, two wells, one on each side of the grade. At station 13, two wells, one on each side of- the grade. At station 24, two wells, one on each side of the grade. At station 27, two wells, on on each side of the grade. At station 39, twb wells, one on each side of the grade. At station 44 plus 60, two wells, one on each side of the grade At station 51 plus 20, Two wells, one on each side of the grade. At station 66 plus 38, two wells, one on each side of the grade. At station 77 plus 30, two wells, one on each of the grade. At station 85, two wells, one on each side of the grade. At station 92, two wells, one on each side of the grade. At station 102, two wells, one on each side of the grade. Said wells to be built of hard burned brick laid flatwise and to extend 18 inches below the bottom of the tile and walled up to the surface of the side drains: said wells to be not less than two (2) feet in diameter on inside and’ arched at the top so as to receive an eighteen (18) inch cast iron grate securely fastened thereon Said brick in said wells to be laid up in mortar composed of one part Bronson’s Portland cement and two parts clean, sharp sand. All wells to be connected up with the tile drains already in and the contractor shall furnish all the tile for connections an tile to be no smaller than I those already in. The contractor shall repair all damage that he may cause to tile drains already in along the sides of the grade. ABUTMENTS. On east abutment the north wing shall continue in line of abutment and south wing at an agle of 45 degrees, or as directed by superintendent orengineer. On west abutment the south wing • shall continue in line with abutment i and the north wing at an angle of 45 degrees or as directed by the superintendent or engineer. At station 10 on the west part the contractor shall remove the stone abutments that are now under the bridge and replace the. same with con- ! .crete abutments. Said new abutments to confbrm in all respects as to size with the old ones and said concrete . shall be proportioned as specified for the bulkheads. The stone that is now in said abutments shall be removed by the contractor and shall become the property of the township. CRUSHED STONE, KIND, ETC. The stone shall be placed on the subgrade or road-bed to a width of ten (10) feet and ten (10) inches* deep in the center and eight (8) inches at the sides, and shall be placed on, the south side of the road-bed leaving a space of three (3) feet between the shoulder of the grade on the south side and the edge of the stone placed thereon. The upper three (2) Inches of said crushed stone shall be composed of screenings. AU material to be placed on the ! grade in a neat and workmanlike manl ner. The stone is to be grade in before [ final acceptance. All stone must be so crushed that at least 80 per cent, will pass through a two-inch ring. - Where the stone is unloaded all the coarser particles shall be raked to the 1 bottom. After stone is in place the contractor shal Ibank enough dirt against the edge of the stone to hold the same in place, the same shall be done with a grader. Said stone shall be equal to the product of the Linn Grove or Decatur quarries. At approaches to bridges the dirt road shall be stoned for fifty (50) feet on each side. iSTI RELATIONS. Baumgarner as Engineer met at hte Auditr’s office at Decatur, Indiana, and after being duly sworn as prescribed by law, we proceeded to examine, lay out and straighten said road as shown by that part of our report which is marked exhibit “A,” and which report shows the route of the proposed road. We further find no claims for damages of any kind whatever. We further estimate the cost of the proposed improvement to be $6475.20. DESCRIPTION OF THE FRENCH TOWNSHIP CENTRAL EXTENSION NO. TWO. Commencing at the south-east corner of the south-east quarter of section 22, township 26 north, range 13 east;' thence running west over and upon the public highway between sections 22 and section 27; and section 21 and section 28 to the Wabash river running thence in a northwesterly course or direction alorig the banks of said river to a point where the above described highway intersects with the public highway running north and south on and' along the west line of said section 21, township and range aforesaid Said public highway being the line between said Adams county and Wells county, Indiana, and there to terminate. The length of the proposed improvement is 10832 feet, or 2.©5 miles. ROADWAY, GRADE, ETC. At station 7 plus 50 the contractor shall add a 30-inch sewer to the sewer already in to make it 26 feet long. At station 50 the sewer that is already in shall be lengthened to the side drains. At station 50 plus 10?* a 2-feet cast iron sewer shall be placed across the grade, said pipe to be 26 feet in length. At station 57 plus 10. a 10-inch cast iron sewer shall be placed across the grade, said pipe to be 26 feet in length. At station 68 plus 10 the sewer already in shall be lengthened to 26 feet. At station 71 plus 62. a 10-inch cast iron sewer shall be placed across the grade, said pipe to be 26 feet in length At station 90 plus 50, an 8-inch cast

iron sewer shaH be placed across the grade, said pipe to be 26 feet long. At station 103, an 8-inch cast iron sewer shall be placed across the grade, said pipe to be" 26 feet long. BULKHEADS. The contractor shall build bulkheads at each end of the above sewers composed of one (1) part Bronson's Portland cement, one (1) part clean, sharp sand and two (2) parts of crushed stone, all parts of said stone that will not pass through a two-inch ring shall not be used in said concrete. All bulkheads shall commence eighteen (18) inches below the pipe and extend six (6) inches above the surface of the stone placed on the roadbed and shall be fifteen (15) inches thick and extend eighteen (18) inches on each side of the pipe. The bulkhead at the end of the sewer at sation 50 plus 10 shall be extended 3% feet on each side of the sewer. WELLS. There shall be wells placed at the following places: Station 7 plus 50, two wells. Station 90, two wells. Said wells to be built of hard burned brick laid flatwise -and to extend 18 inches below the bottom of the tile and walled up to the surface of the side drains; said wells to be not less han two feet in diameter and arched at the top so as to receive an eighteen (18) inch cast iron grate securely fastened thereon. Said brick in said wells to be laid . up in mortar composed of one part Bronson’s Portland cement and two parts clean, sharp sand All wells to be connected up with tile drains already in and the- contractor shall furnish all tile for connections and tile to be no smaller than those already in. The contractor shall repair all damages that he may cause to tile drains already in along sides of grade. CRUSHED STONE, KIND, ETC. The crushed stone shall be placed on the sub-grade or road-bed to a width ot ten (10) feet and shall be placed on the'south side of the road-bed from station 0 to 96 and on the east side of the grade from station 96 to 108, leaving a space of three (3) feet between the shoulder of the grade and the edge of the stone placed thereon. The upper three (3) inches of said crushed stone shall be composed of screenings. 4 Said stone shall be placed on the sub-grade to a depth of ten (10) inches in the center and 8 inches at the sides. All materials to be placed on the grade in a neat and workmanlike manner. The stone to be graded in before final acceptance. AH' stone must be so crushed that at least eighty (80) per cent, of it will pass through a 2-inch ring. Where stone is unloaded all the coarser particles shall be raked to the bottofti. Said stone shall be equal to the product of the Linn Grove or Decatur quarries. * At approaches to bridges or arches the dirt road shall be stoned for fifty (50) feet on each side. * REPAIR OF BRIDGES, ARCHES AND ABUTMENTS. At station 25 the contractor shall lengthen the arch already in to twen-ty-six (26) feet. At station 32 the contractor shall lengthen the abutments already in to eighteen (18) feet and shall add one (1) foot to the same in heighth and place thereon a steel bridge sn (10 > feet long with a sixteen (16) feet roadway and also a concrete floor. To the Honorable Bodrd of Commissioners of Adams County, Indiana: Wje, the undersigned viewers and engineer appointed by your Honorable Board at the April term, 1906, and in pursuance to the within order of said petition would most respectfully submit the following report. in pursuance to said ordei" we, Albert Walters and G. W. Reynolds, as vieweI ers and L. L. Baumgartner, as engi-

neer, met at the office of Peter Hoffman in Linn Grove. Indiana, and after being duly sworn as prescribed by law, we proceed to lay out and stra<gnte n said road as shown by that part of our report which is marked exhibit "A." and which report shows the route of the proposed road. Also a profile showing the grade of road as established and showing “cuts and fills,” also location of drains and sewers; said profile is marked exhibit "B,” the same being on file in the office of the Auditor of Adams County Indiana. We further find that the above improvement in accordance with the plans and specifications hereiry set forth would be of public benefit and utility. We further find no claims for damages of any kind whatever. We further estimate the cost of the proposed improvement to be $4954.25. DESCRIPTION OF THE REYNOLDS EXTENSION NO. THREE. Commencing at the north-east corner of the north-west quarter of section nine (9) in township twenty-five (25) north, range thirteen (13) east, thence running south on the half section line of sections nine (9) and sixteen (16) to the south-east corner of the southwest quarter of said section sixteen, township and range aforesaid and there to terminate. The estimate length of the proposed road is 10573 feet or 2 miles. ROADWAY, GRADE, ETC. The roadway must’ be clear of all fences, trees, stumps, logs and all rubbish nature it may be. All stumps must be either grubbed or blasted out in the drains or on the grade. The rigbt-of-Way shall be forty (40) feet in width. If at any time during the construction of or before the final acceptance of the same the grade should settle the contractor shall fill all depressions and restore the same to the original specifications The grade shall be of the .double track system of a uniform width of. twenty-six (26) feet from shoulder to shoulder with a slope of four (4) inches from center to either side (except as hereinafter stated.) The subgrade shall be rolled by the contractor at such times and places as may be deemed necessary by the superintendent or engineer with a roller » of not less than six (6) tons in weight “before placing any stone thereon. The roadbed shall be made in a smooth and workmanlike manner and inspected and accepted in 1000 feet sections before any material is placed thereon. Grade and line stakes set by the engineer aud destroyed by the contractor through negligence wil be set again at the contractor’s expense. DRAINS. The side drains shall be cut not less than eighteen (18) inches below the hip of the grade. All drains to be constructed in a neat an-1 workmanlike manner with sufficient fall and oulet to carry all the water that may accumulate therein and remove the same from the highway. • SEWERS. At station 53 the contractor shall .place in a 10” cast iron sewer 26 feet long and at stations 92 plus 85 and 95 plus 25 the sewers that are already in shall be lengthened to 26 feet. BULKHEADS. The contractor shall build bulkheads at each end of the above sewers composed of one part Bronson's Portland cement, one part clean, sharp sand and two parts of crushed stone; all parts of said stone that will not pass through a two-inch ring shall not be used in said concrete All bulkheads shall commence eighteen (18) inches below the pipe and extend six (6) inches above the surface of the stone placed on the road-bed and shall be fifteen (15) inches thick and extend eighteen (18) inches on each side of the pipe. WELLS. There shall be wells placed at the following places: At station 19 plus 25 two wells, one on each side of the grade. At station 47 plus 80 two wells, one on each side of. the grade. At station 92 plus 85 two wells, one on each side of the grade Said wells to be built of hard burned brick laid flatwise and to extend 18 inches below the bottom of the tile and walled up to the surface of the side drains; said wells to be not less than two feet in diameter and arched at the top so as to receive an eighteen (18) inch cast iron grate securely fastened thereon. Said brick in» said well to be laid up in mortar composed of one part Bronson’s Portland cement and two parts clean, sharp sand. All wells, to be conencted up with the • tile drains already in and the contractor shall furnish all tile for connections and tile to be no smaller than those already in. The contractor shall repair all damage that he may cause to tile drains already in along the sides of the grads. CRUSHED STONE, KIND, ETC. I The stone shall be placed on the subgrade, or road bed to a width of ten (10) feet and ten (10) inches in th* center and eight (8) inches at ths sides and shal Ibe placed on the east side of the road-bed leaving a spac* of three (3) feet between the shouldsr of the grade on the east side and th* edge of the stone placed thereon. The upper three (3) inches of saiff crushed stone shall be .composed or screenings. All materials to be placed on th* grade in a neat and workmanlike manner. The stone to be graded in befor* I final acceptance. C All stone must be so crushed that at least 80 per cent will pass through a two-inch ring. ' Where stone is unloaded all h* caorser particles shall be raked to th* bottom. Said stone to be equal to the product of the; Linn Grove or Decatur quarries. q STIPULATIONS. The work as it progresses will be laid out by the engineer and stakes set by him iriust be preserved.
