Adams county, a petition for the location and construction of a certain stone road, signed by more than fifiy (50)freeholders and voters of Washington township, in said county, which petition is in the following words, to-wit: State of Indiana, Adams County In Commissioners’ Court. Petition for extension of macadamized stone road. We the undersigned resident freeholders and voters in Washington township. Adams County, in the State of Indiana, do hereby m st respectfully petition your Honorable Body, that you proceed and and take the necessary and proper steps to have a free macadamized stone road built, constructed and completed in said Washington township, over on and upon the public highway located and situated on and upon the following described route, to-wit: Commencing at the West Washington township macadamized road, the same being a macadamized stone road, at the northeast corner of section twenty in township twentyseven north, range fourteen east. Adams County. Indiana, thence to run south on over aud upon the public highway between sections twenty and twenty-one. between sections twenty-eight and twenty-nine, and between sections thirty-two and thirty-three, in said township and range aforesaid to the township line or the townships of Washington and Monroe in said Adams County. Indiana, at the southeast corner of said section (birt’ .two. and the distance of three miles, and there terminate. And we pray that you take such action upon this petition as you are directed and auth )rized to do under and by virtue of an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana. approved March the Sth. 1906. and under any and all other Acts of said General Assembly mentioned in said Act of 1905. We further ask that said improvement be paid for by bonds issued oy said County of Adams, payable in twenty semi-annual equal installments, for the payment of which bonds we ask that a tax be levied on tne taxable property of said Washington township in a sufficient amount to pay interest and principal of said bonds as the same may mature and become due and payable, under and according to the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, approved 8. 1905, and any and all amendmen thereto. filed in the auditor’s office. Adams county, a petition for the location and construction of a certain stone road, signed by more than fifty (.50) freeholders and voters of Hartford township, in said county, which petition is in the following words, to-wit: State of Indiana. Adams County, ss. Before the Board of Commissioners, at the April term of said Commissioner’s Court, 1906. Petltionf or macadamized road. To the Board of Commissioners of Adams County. Indiana: We, the undersigned, each and all of whom are resident freeholders of Hartford township. in Adams ounly, Indian i, do hereby respectfully petition your Honorable Body that you proceed to have a free macadamized sione road constructed aud completed in said Hartford township over and upon the public highway situated on the fol owing route, to-wit: Commencing at the n or th west corner of section twenty-five (25), in township twentyfive north, range thirteen (13) east. In Adams county, Indiana, at the pike known as tne ■ Jimtown pike” in said townshin and range; thence to run west on the public highway between sections fourteen(l4) and twenty-three (23). a d sections fifteen and twenty-two (22), and sections sixteen (16) and twenty-one(2l>, and there terminate. The said road herein petitioned for being alj in said Hartford township, in said county and state, and being two and one-half (2(4) miles in length, to be known as Jimtown Extention No. 1. And that you take such action upon this petition as you are directed and authorized to do under and by virtue of an act of the General Assembly of the state of Indiana, approved March 8,10C5 and under any other acts of the said General Assembly. We further ask that the same be constructed as a single track, twelve feet in width along the entire length of the said road herein petitioned for. Wo further ask that said improvement be paid for by bonds issued by said county of Adams, payable in twenty semi-annual equal installments for the paj inent of which bunds we ask that there be a tax levied upon the taxable property of said Hartford township In a sufficient amount to pay the interest and principa of said bonds as the same shall become due and payable under and according to the provisions of said act of the General Assembly of the state,of Indiana, approved March the Sth, 1905. The improvement herein prayed fur to be supplementary to the pike aioresaid and mentioned herein, which said road is a pike approyed by the said Board of Commissioners of said county. Notice of sale of macadam ROAD BONDS. Notice is hereby given that I, J. F. Lachot, treasurer of Adams county, state of Indiana, will on Monday, April 2. 1906, at the room of the board of commissioners in the auditor’s office in the city of Decatur, Indiana, recei”e sealed bids for the purchase and sale of certain macadamized road bonds hereinafter described issued by the board of commissioners of said county for the construction of the roads hereinafter named as follows, to-wit: For the construction of the West Washington No. 4 macadam road in Washington township, Adams county, Indiana, the entire issue of bonds for said road being in the sum of 83,640, being in twenty (20) semi-annual payments, bearing date of March 15, 1906, and each bond being in the sum of $lB2, with 4j percent interest, payable semi-annually with coupons attached. Sealed bids will be received until 10 o’clock ,a. nt. of said day. Each bid must be accompan ed with a certified check in amount equal to three (3) per cent of the amount of the bid, which check must be drawn against monies deposited in any reliable bank in said county; such check must be made payable or endorsed to the board of commissioners and shall be held as guaranty for tbe performance of such bid. and should such bid be accepted the said check shall be forfeited to the county, should the bidder faii to comply with the conditions of his said bid.' Each of said bonds will bear date of March 15, 1906, and should the bonds be not ready for delivery on the day the said bids are received and accepted, the interest will be refunded by the purchaser at the rate of four and one-half per cent from the date of March 15, 1906, until the date when tbe purchase price of said bonds are paid to the county treasurer and the bonds delivered. The above described bonds will become due on the 15th day of November 1906, and the 15th day of May. 1907, of each year, commencing on the 15th day of November, 1906. and are made pavable, including interest, at the First National Bank. Decatur. Indiana. Said bonds are issued exclusively for the expense of the construction of the above described roads pursuant to the laws of 1597. 1899 and 1903. The amount of bonds to be sold including bonds already issued in said township for the free gravel and macadam roads is less four (4 per cent of the total valuation of said township for taxation.
