All parties along said road from , station 18 to 71 plus 59, except one, gave their consent to tue viewers and engineer for the contractor. if necessary, to have an additional two (2) feet of right of way ’ on each side of grade in order to se•ure dirt to make grade as shown , on profile. The one excepted -was I not seen but it is believed that he will also give his consent to tha same. If at any time during the oncstruotion of. or before the final acceptance of the same, the grade should settle, the contractor shall fill all depressions and restore the same to tne original specifications, t The grade shall be of the double track system and of a uniform width of twenty six (26) feet from shoulder to shoulder witn a slope , of four (4) inches from center to either side. Grade and line stages set by the engineer and destroyed by contractor through negligence will be set again~at the contractor's ex pense. DRAINS The side drains shall be cut not less than eighteen (18) inches below the hip of the graue, said drains to oe constructed in a neat and work manlike manner with sufficient fall ind outlet to convey all water that may therein from said : nighway. There shall be wells at th? following places on each side of the ;rade: At station 4, 2 wells. At staton 19, 2 wells. At station 96, 2 wells. At station 109 plus 60, 2 wells. At station 115, 2 wells. • Said wells to be built of the best lard burned brick, laid flatwise and to extend to eighteen (18) inches .»elow the bottom of the tile and hen walled to the surface of the •ide rains. Said brick in said wells to be laid up in mortar Composed of one (1) part Bronson’s Portland cement. <nd two (2) parts of clean sharp sand. Said wells to be not lessthan two (2) feet in diameter and trehed at the top so as to receive ■in eighteen (18) inch cast iron grate securely fastened thereon. Said veils to be connected up with the tile drains, the contractor to furnish ill tile for connections, no tile to be smaller than that already in. BRIDGES AND CULVERTS. At station 19, lengthen the culvert already in to twenty six (26) feet. At station 121 plus 38 toughen the abutments already in to eighteen (18) feet and add six (6) inches on top, and add also four (4) wings, each four (4) feet long. Said extensions to be begun at the same depth of the abutments already in On these abutments shall be placed an iron bridge 8 feet long and 16 feet roadway according to plans and specifications hereto attached. BULKHEADS. At each end of the cast iron sew er pipes there shall be consructed bulkheads composed of one (1) part Bronson’s Portland cement, one (1) cart clean sharp sand and two (2) parts crushed stone; all parts of •aid stone that will not pass through a two (2) inch ring shall not be used in said concrete. All bulkheads shall commence dghteen (18) inches below the pipe ind extend six (6) inches above the su face of the stone on road bed, and shall be twenty (20) inches thick and extend eighteen (18) in ches on e .ch side of pipe.

< There shall also be constructed bulkheads as stipulated (above on r>aoh end of sewer drain station 65 plus 32. CRUSHED STONE, KIND, ETC. The crushed stone shall be placed on the sub-grade or road bed io a width of ten (10) inches, and to a depth of ten (10) inches in the cen ter and eight (8) inches on the sides; said stone shall be placed on east and north side of road grade leavinga space of three (3) feet between the east shoulder of the grade and edge of stone placed there on, except from station 11 to 38 the Ciushed stone shall be placed to a width of twenty (20) feet, that is then (10) feet on each side from center of grade and to a depth of twelve (12) inches in center and ten (10) inches on the sides; the up per our (4) inches ot all aid crushed stone shall be composed of screen Ings. In the portion of road between statoins 11 and 38 the material already on grade may be left there and utilized in the construction of said road except from that portion of said roadbed which will have to be loweared as shown on profile of said road, from this portion the material (gavel and cushed stone) shall be removed to permit cutting of grade and the same may then again be placed on the road bed and utilized in the construction of said road; except also from station 0 to 11 the crushed stone shall lie placed to a width of twelve (12) feet, that is six (6) feet on each side from center of grade, and to a depth of twelve (12) inches in cen )er and ten (10) inches on the sides the upper four (4) inches of said stone to be composed of screenings. All material to be placed on grade in a neat and workmanlike man ner. The stone to be graded in before final acceptance. All stone to be so crusned that at least 80 percent will pass through a two (2) f nch ring. Where stone are unloaded al] the coarser par tides shall be raked to the bottom of grade. Said stone to be equal to the products of the Linn Grove quarries. At points where road crosses arches the dirt track shall be stoned forty (40) feet on each side. STIPULATIONS. 'rhe work as it progresses will be laid out by the enigneer and stakes ?et by him must be preserved. The materials fcr the various improvements shall be on the ground at place of improvement before the old materials are removed. The board of county commission ers. the engineer and the superintendent reserve the right to inspect the materials used, (and condemn the same if,necessary, and all materials thus condemned shall be re moved from the the right-of-way *nd not used at any time in the construction of the improvement. Corner stones, landmarks, etc., must be respected by the contractor while making said improvement. I > expressly understood that she c- > actor is not compelled to place in r culverts, tile, bridges, grade or apj * ches at any private ane, crossing, road, etc,, or if any fence, post or similar matter that nay be within the limit of rights wav of the proposed improve ment is not removed by the parties o whom they belong, after having lad sufficient notice, then the con rractor shall remove the same. Telephone companies who own tines along the route of said im provement shall remove poles to the edge of rght of-way.
