John Everett and fifty-nine other residents and property owners along ■ Thirteenth street, have signed and filed a petition, the same being pre- ; sented to the commissioners, asking that the Decatur & Monroe macadam road be extended along said street to township line. This petition conforms to a provision of law enacted by the last legislature, which provides that extension to macadam roads may be made in this way. The petitioners recite the fact that said street has never been macadamized or stoned, that its improvement now is of publlic benefit and utility, and asks that the law be conformed with and the line of work contracted for. Should bids I for construction be asked, the price contracted can not exceed that paid for the original work. In other words, should this street be contracted, the price dare not exceed that of the Decatur & Monroe road. As yet the board of commisioners have taken no action upon the petition, and likely will not until next regular meeting.
