THE HEXnCKZD MAX. Among the freaks in nature's plan. There are few deplored as the henpecked man. The question arose and very late As to when this freak did originate. Man was created not by natural birth. And made a s.veretgn of the earth: For want of a mate be began to jib. When in deep sleep he lost one rib. And when he awoke be beheld his mate. Who soon yielded to a reprobate: And soon too. became indiscrete Bv her command forbidden fruit was eat. When now in disccrd with nature's plan. dam became a henpecked man. While the stigma is set in rhyme
It will follow man throughout all time And while the queen sits on her throne. . How dare be call his life bis 0<^ D q The henpecked man, Oh! how forlorn, Hi- energy wrecked, bis joys all gone; While passing on his daily rounds. He bows submission to her frowns, Her beautvia truthmay blush the rose Yet hubby’s imbued with horn 1 woes, A’.'d so long as not in death s throes She leadeih husband by the nose. So reader believe it and you can, AU ages found the henpecked man; And if be be a loving soul, Will remain till earth cease on its axis roll. Another question has arose of late, Os the beep-eked man tnl his future state. When his mortal is stripped of all its dross, Shall it be said his soul is lost ? Oh! no, let it be soon or late , When he comes to rap at Heaven s gate, Peter inquires who cometb there. A henpecked moiul, lasting bliss to share. Me thinks St. Peter is heard to quote When Christ was tried in Caphias court, I was amazed and short of breath. Defenseless Christ was condemned to death, He adds in tones of sweetest f herd I was a damsel's subject and denied Ev Lord. If you but my vissage scan. You'll pertieve 1 was one of the clan, , So pass in through the open door, And reap eternal joys galore; For a henpecked life I found it tough So take thy rest, you hare been pun ished enough.
