Truth for May appears in a new dress and with a new policy, indicated by adding to its name “The Woman's Forum.” Mrs. Fannie Humphreys Gaffney is the editor-in-chief, supported by a number of prominent club women. The following from the editorial page, indicates the policy of the magazine: “It is the purpose of Truth to afford a Forum, or common meeting ground, for the women of today. To offer a ready means where by woman may keep herself well informed about what other women (and men too. for that matter) are doing and thinking. . Whooping Cough. A woman who has had experience with this disease, tells how to prevent any dangerous consequences from it. She says: Our three children took whooping cough last summer, our baby boy being only three months old, and owing to our giving them Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy, they lost noneof their plumpness and came out in much better health than other children whose parents did not use this remedy. Our oldest little girl would call lustily for cough syrup between whoops Jessie Pinkey Hall, Springville. Ala. This Remedy is for sale by Holthouse, Callow & Co. m Mr. Bok, editor of the Ladies’ Home Journal, has aroused the indignation of the club women of the whole United States by an article in a recent issue of his journal entitled. “She Dasn’t.” Truth: The Woman’s Forum, devotes four articles in the May number by sueh well known writers as “John-a-Dreams,” Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Sara Knowles and Alexan der Black to the discussion of Mr. | Bok's anathemas on club women. All the articles are a concerted and not wholly unsuccessful effort to show that if Mr. Bok is the intellectual type of man who is to do the women’s thinking it is not so extraordinary that the sex should rebel. Good Advice.—The most miserable beings in the world are those suffering from dyspepsia and liver complaint. More than seventy-five per cent, of the people of the United States are afflicted with these two diseases and their effects, such as sour stomach, sick headache, habitual costiveness, palpation of the heart, heart-burn, waterbrash, gnawing and burning pains at the pit of the stomach, yellow skin, coated tongue and disagreeable taste in the mouth, coming up of food aftereatingjow spirits, etc. Go to your druggist and get a bottle of August Flower for 75 cents. April 11th, 1902: "Made odd Fertilizer Deal," Millikin buried his marsh farm under packing house product. W. A. Millikin, of Bowling Green, was in the city today on a somewhat pe culiarerrand, Sometime ago while Mr. Millikin was in Chicago he went out to the stock yards of the Ham mond Packing company. While there he saw an immense pile of fer tilizer, the remains of countless thousands of cows that had visited the yards during the past ten years. The company told him that he was welcome to it if he would take it away as they were anxious to get rid of it. Mr. Millikin owns about three him dred acres of land on the Scioto Marsh and saw a chance to get a large amount of fertilizer at a low cost. He made an agreement to take all of it and ship it to Alger. The stuff made just one hundred and eight car loads and the transportion charges were only $3,600. It was brought to bis farm and he ordered about eighty acres covered with it. He received word a few days ago that it has lieen put on the ground so thickly that his men were unable to plow the eighty acres. He went to the marsh today to see about it. Mr. Millikin expects to break the record this year in regard to size and quantity of onions on the marsh.”— Kenton News-Republican.
