R. S. Peterson attended to legal business at Clarion last Friday. Several Decaturites were at Fort Wayne Sunday to attend the ball game. Mrs. Jesse Shober returned to Fort Wayne Saturday after a several days’ visit here. $ ' Dr. and Mrs. Koy Archbold and C. C. Schafer and wife were at Rome City over Sunday. Baseball enthusiasm is at a high pitch here at present on account of the city league. D. M. Hensley, R. B. Gregory and John S. Peterson were with their families at Rome City over Sunday. If it did not require so much work there are many people who would make translations of the Bible just for their own use. Any advertised dealer is authorized to guarantee Banner Salve for tetter, eczema, piles, sprains, scalds, burns, ulcersand any open or old sore. Hhlthouse, Callow & Co. j Don’t begrudge the hirer! man a half day off on a rainy day if you expect him to put in extra time to get the hay in or top out the grain stack without extra pay. Some hired men are very human. A bad complexion generally results from inactive liver and bowels In all such eases. DeWitt’s Little Early Risers produce gratifying results. Smith, Yager A Falk. j In the year 1838 the Bth judicial circuit, of which *our county was a part, included the following counties: Cass, Miami. Wabash, Huntington, Whitley, Noble, DeCalb, Steuben, LaGrange, Allen, Adams and Wells. DeWitt’s Witch Hazel Salve should be promptly applied to cuts, burns and scalds. It soothes and quickly heals the injured part. There are worthless counterfeits, be sure to get DeWitt's. Smith, Yager & Falk, j The rural route mail carriers have been provided with money order receipts to give patrons, making the system complete. Any error can now be easily corrected or traced. It is quite a convenience to the patrons as well as the carriers. Those famous little pills, DeWitt’s Little Early Risers compel your liver and bowels to do their duty, thus giving you pure, rich blood to recuperate your body. Are easy to take. Never gripe. Smith, Yager & Falk. j The Niblick building on Second street which is being put in readiness for Gus Rosenthals big clothing store is to lie one of the handsomest business rooms in the city and when adorned with Rosenthal's big stock will be most metropolitan in appearance. Dogs have been placed under the ban at Winona and no canine will be permitted to roam at will or follow over the grounds. The management has decided that dogs are a nuisance and do more harm than good. The grounds are under strict censorship. Jas. G. Amerthoff. Della. 0., writes: I “I had an obstinate sore on my face which everything else failed to heal. After one application of Banner Salve it liegan to heal and after three ap plications it was entirely healed leav ing no scar.” Holthouse, Callow & Co. j An Indianapolis special says that the crop of wheat now being harvested in Indiana will aggregate 30.000,000 of bushels, according to reports receiver! at the board of trade building. While the acreage is short the quality and yield have been good. The wheat is a strong export demand, and exporters are willing to pay more for it than either Chicago or the millers. “Any one who has ever picked up with a bare hand a piece of intensely cold iron knows that the touch burns almost as badly as if the metal were red hot. Indeed the action of great heat and extreme cold are so similar that a Hungarian chemist has turned the latter to account to prepare meats for food. He subjects it to sixty degrees of frost and then seals it up in air tight cans. The result is that the meat is practically cooked by cold.” “I wish to truthfully state to you ■ and the readers of these few lines that your Kodol Dyspepsia Cure is with out question, the Irest and onily cure for dyspepsia that I have ever come in contact with and I have used many other preparations.” John Beam. Middlesex, Pa. No other preparation equals Krxiol Dyspepsia Cure as it contains all the digestants. It will digest all kinds of food and can’t help but do vou good. Smith, Yager & Falk. j The fiction in the August Every body’s will l>e found very blithe and entertaining. “The Star who Played Leading Lady,” by Elnora Hoyt, illustrated by Harry Hutt, is delightfully clever. There is also “General Leslie's Delusion,” by A. R. Calhoun; “Retribution,” by Mrs. Leland; and the opening chapter of a new serial, "Tangled Up in Beulah Land," a story of social life in New York done in ail agreeably light and whimsical vein. It Dazzles the World. No discovery in medicine has ever created one-quarter of the excitement that has been caused by Dr. King's New Discovery for Consumption. It’s Bevest tests have l>een on hojteloss victims consumption, pneumonia, hemorrhage, pleurisy and bronchitis, thousands of whom it has restored to perfect health. Mr. Tyler, of the large wholesale drug house of Strond, Cobb A Co., Cleveland, Ohio, says: “Dr. Marshall's Lung Syrup is a Cough Charmer, the merits of which have long been realized bv thousands of people. Nothing can equal the results obtained from the use of this great medicine, its cures are in exact ratio with the number of cases in which in which it has been 'sed' and unless you give it a trial you cannot convince yourself of its true merit.” Sold everywhere by druggists. Mound City, Kans., Oct. 22, 1900. Dear Sir: I wish to add my endorsement and recommendation as to the merits of Dr. Caldwell’s Syrup Pepsin. I have sold it as a druggist and it always gives satisfaction, and my customers are loud in its praise. I myself had been troubled with my stomach, and hearing so many of my customers speaking of Syrup Pepsin. I tried it. with the result that it cured my trouble. I unhesitating recommended Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin as a laxative and stomach remedy. Yours truly, J. M. Hawkins. Sold by Smith, Yager & Falk. j ...Legal Advertising...
