A large number of our citizens were at Bluffton yesteiday in attendance jat the funeral services of J. J. Todd who was well known here, and who j died Sunday noon from Bright's din ease. Mrs. Townsend, who has been very ill for several weeks with pneumonia, is recovering. The turning point came last Thursday since which time she has slowly improved, and her friends feel confident that she will soon bias well as over. Clark J. Lutz left la?i evening for St. Louis where he will attend the General Assembly of Presbytery as a lay delegate from this district. The meetings will continue for one week and many questions of importance will be discussed, among them lieing the revision of the creed which his recently caused such a commotion in the church. On all questions Mr. Lutz will have the right and pleasure to express himself and to vote, and he will no doubt bring back good a<' count of the proceedings. Through his kindness we will nex publish same. John M. Frisinger Wt Tuesday evening with a ear load of fine draft horses, bound for Hamburg,Germany, lie represents the firm of Frisinger, Gerber & Sprunger. Forty more head were taken up at Mansfield ;Wd Cala- ; donia, Ohio, to complete the shipment, j This will probably close the export j business for awhile on account of the | company being unable to secure space 'on the boats. Mr. Frisinger wlfile in ! Europe will attend to some business, which if successful, will interest tinfarmers and stock raisers of this county, and which will be announced immediately upon his return. Miss Bertha Heller entertained a crowd of young people at her home on Fifth street Friday evening. About thirty guests were present and from the frequent pealsof laughteremitted, we judge the occasion must have been a merry one. • The evening’s pleas ures consisted of dancing, games and refreshments and all were thor oughly enjoyed Its only young folks can enjoy such pastimes.
