An electric vehicle manufacturing house in Toronto, Ont., has constructed a motor-driven invalid’s chair which is claimed as being the smallest motor carriage in the world, the width over all being only about two feet, it is equipped with three cells of storage battery, weighing three pounds, and a small motor capable of driving it at a maximum speed of four miles per hour. Used by British Soldiers in Africa. Capt. C. G. Dennison is well known all over Africa as commander of the forces that captured the famous rebel Galishe. The Chicago Times says: The Bijou is about the only place of amusement worth visiting this week. The attraction is The Missouri Girl, presented by those clever laugh- makers, Fred and Sadie Raymond, supported by a capable company. They are doing an enormous business. It 7 The Sunday schools have adopted a novel method of designating those who do not attend regularly. It is said that a class is formed which is made up of those who go as visitors and others who just “drop in.” It is facetiously called the “hobo class.” Os course this name is not recorded in the secretary’s book, and may not be known to the superintendent, but the fact remains that many who attend the Sunday school know what is meant when reference is made to the “hobo class.” —Ex. Here is a late swindle and one that may profit farmers to keep an eye open for. A “farmer-looking” fellow will call having samples of corn. The ears will be from five to eight times the size of ordinary ears of corn, which he alleges he raised from seed sent him by his brother, who is engaged in farming in a foreign land. He offers to sell 100 grains for twenty-cents, or the whole ear for two dollars. The victim buys only to find later on, it is nothing but ordinary corn.
