Since then the so called X -rays by Roentgen ‘1,1™., the physician to see what is Sthin the human body has been dis'X“d The medical world has been investigating and reaching for aZermicide or bactercide for the suppression of these various causes of ]i-ease. As regards tubercuelosis, commonly called consumption, they hive been eminently successsul and it is now 'positively known that consumption can be cured. This Dr. Younge has repeatedly done within the last two years. _ If you were in prison and some good angel would open the door and s a v: "Go, you are free!” you would uot stop to ask whether the key that opened the door was a regulation key or not. If it opened the door that was all vou asked. If you are sick do not be prejudiced by “some one telling vou the specialist is not of the regulation method. Go to him if he is regularly graduated from some good medical college and has devoted years of his life to the study of chronic diseases, he will know what to do for vou much better than the regular physician. DR. J. AV. YOUNGE A CHRISTIAN PHYSICIAN WHO TRIES TO CCRE BODY AND SOUL. In order that our many readers who desire to know who and what Dr. J. W. Younge is, we cheerfully publish the following recommendations and testimonials: Many of our readers who are seeking medical treatment find themselves at°a complete loss as regards to whom to go. AVe here give absolute facts both as regards to who and what Dr. J. W. Younge is, and his ability as a recognized specialist, and also the many wonderful cures hehas performed. To the sick this is of vital importance, and the following facts are incontrovertable, as some of the best men in this state vouch for their truthfulness. For over thirty y >ars Dr. Younge has made a special study of chronic diseases, and during this time he has been in contact daily with patients suffering with these diseases. The following testimonials should be sufficient to convince everybody of Dr. Younge’s integrity and ability as a physician: Pittsburg, Pa., Aug. 20, 1599. To whom it may concern: I take pleasure in stating that I have personally known Dr. J. AV. Younge for a period of over forty years, and only know him as an honorable Christian gentleman and physician. I take pleasure in commending him as such, as I know of some remarkable cures of consumption and other diseases which he has effected. I believe him worthy of the fullest confidence of the public. Samuel T. Mitchell, D. D. Rev. Mitchell was formerly presiding Elder of the M. E. church of the Pittsburg Conference, and one of the ablest preachers in that denomination. DR. J. AV. YOUNGE is the name of the gentleman that HAS CURED MORE CASES OF CONSUMPTION THAN ANY DOCTOR IN THE STATE OF INDIANA. The great Tuberculosis Congress just held at Berlin, Germany, has decided that consumption is not hereditary. Prof. Rudolph Virchow, of the I niversity of Berlin, Prof. Loeffler, of Griefswald,’ and discoverer of the diphtheria bacillus, Prof. Frainkel, of Halle, and Prof. Cuschman, of Lepzic I niversity, have decided positively that consumption is not hereditary. Phvsicians of all nations were present at this Congress, and their decision will give hope to the many unfortunate victims of the disease, and encourage them to take treatment. Dr. J. AA . Younge, of Fort AVayne, cured seventeen cases of consumption last year. Os this there is no doubt, as it is certified to by some of the most reliable men in the state. Prof. Crappe of Paris, France, appeared before the members of the American Medical Association, at their last meeting at Columbus, Ohio, and informed them that he had cured 3,000 cases of consumption in Paris last year, and that he could cure every case of consumption if taken in its first stage. His treatment consists in the application of Formaldehide by inhalation in connection with proper medical constitutional treatment. This is the treatment used by Dr. Younge and has proved successful with him. The following testimonials confirm ad that Dr. Y’ounge claims for his method of treatment. They are all genuine and can be relied on: Logansport Ind., Sept. 4, 1899. Dr. J. \V. Younge. My Dear Docl°r: Gratitude prompts me to write you this testimonial for what you have done for my wife. She owes her health and her life to your skill and knowledge, as we had abandoned all hope before going to see vou. Our 1? a Physician informed us that she had consumption and that her case incurable. Her father, mother an d brother all died with consumption
and I now tell you why we came to l you for treatment. Her brother died °‘ consumption m Colorado two yearn ago, and the spirit of her dead brother sent her to you. He told her vou could cure her and we believed “the sp'nt. A our treatment has proven I that we did right in obeying the spirit and she has been taking Jour S I ment for fourteen months and will continue to take medicine. She has 1 no coughs no night sweats, good appe- | tite and sleeps well. She feels as well as she ever did. May God spare your “fe to be of benefit to the sick and afflicted is our prayer. Yours most gratefully, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Wilhelm Fort AVayne, Ind., Sept. 12, 1899. Dr. J. AV. Younge, Dear Sir: I desire that people shall know what you have done for our daughter. AVe had lost all hope, not one ray of sunshine was left us when our family doctor informed us that Consumption was doing its deadly work on her. We could only fold our hands and watch her grow weaker from day to day. Her cough was very troublesome and her fever burning her up, and her night sweats were exhausting her. AVe were induced to bring her to you for treatment, although several persons told us you could not cure her or do her any good. But our daughter’s life was of infinitely more importance to us than anything they can say against you. AA e are now glad and rejoice that we did not be governed by them, as our daughter is well and enjoying good health. We want to let people know what you have done for her, because we believe that you can do as much for them if they are sick. Doctor, if this letter will do you any good you may publish it. AVe consider you an honorable, Christian gentleman in every respect. I am yours most truly, E. F. Smith. The following case is considered miraculous by everybody who knew Mr. Augustine, as it was believed his ease was absolutely hopelessPeru, Ind., Sept. 2, 1899. Dr. J. AV. Younge. Dear Doctor:— AVhen you took my case I told you if you would cure me I would write you a testimonial. I now comply with my promise. I must say you have cured me of consumption. AVhen I began your treatment everybody who knew me said, “I would not live six months.” But I feel very well now, no cough or night sweats, have a good appetite and sleep all night soundly. I am a little short of breath on violent exercises, but this is all that I can notice is the matter with me. People told me I was throwing my money away in giving it to you, but had f done as they wanted me to do, I would be in my grave today. People should not discourage sick people who are trying to get well. I think that is wicked. Money is nothing to a man who is sick. AVhen he dies he cannot take any of it with him. I am yours most respectfully, A. L. Augustine. A SWORN STATEMENT. Personally appeared before me, a notary public, AV. L. McGouagle, who being duly sworn says: That he knows the above testimonials are true and genuine, and furthermore, that Dr. Younge has many more similar testimonials all of which are true and genuine. Subscribed and sworn to before me this 24th day of June, 1899. C. A. Daugherty, Seal Notary Public. Mr. McGonagle is one of the most reliable persons connected with the Fort AVayne College. Dr. Younge will be at the Burt Burt House next Monday, Nov. 6, where he can be consulted by the sick and afflicted. The doctor has been visiting Decatur once every four weeks during the past ten years and has treated many of the best citizens of Adams county, all of whom speak very highly of him. By the doctor visiting his patients once every four weeks saves them the expense of railroad fare to Fort AA ayne and return. The doctor has an institute and private hospital in that city where some of his medical staff can always be found. Remember the date is Monday, Nov. 6. Chamberlain’s Pain Balm cures others, why not you’ My wife has been using Chamberlain’s Pain Balm, with o-ood results, for a lame shoulder that has pained her continually for nine vears. AVe have tried all kinds of medicines and doctors without receiving any benefit from any of them. One day we saw an advertisement of this medicine and thought of trying it which we did with the best of sa - isfaction. She has used only one bottle and her shoulder is almost well.— Adolph A.
