The Pleasant Valley people will give their exibition next Friday night. Aaron Halt moved on the Eastern Loan farm in Blue Creek township last Saturday. Central Spy. Jesse, a small son of George Tricker was badly bruised by a bull last Sunday. The team belonging to Kern ran away one day last week while hauling wood from his woods. School No. 2 in Washington township, closed last Friday. A number of patrons and young people attended the exercises in the afternoon, usual they expected to hear something grand but some of the young people were wonderfully fooled by being vehemently exposed by a soliloquy which was produced by persons who possessed a sujierfluous amount of explosive slang. The origin of this phraseological paper was caused by bitter feelings, and when it was read it exposed some young people disgracefully and was appreciated as an insult that has resulted in some very bitter feelings in this community. Hunter and wife and Lena Schaffner, who assisted in the Saints meeting here left Friday last for Marion, to assist in a tabernacle meeting in progress there. The ordinance of baptism by immersion was administered to five candidates here on Thursday of last week. The meeting at the church was discontinued Monday night of this week. Cottage meetings will be held daily, at the conclusion of which the ordinance of baptism will be again observed. Lorenzo Dunbar started out again last Friday the most inquisitive man among us as to worldly possessions and value thereof. While he relieves you of the last dollar between you and glory, because there be a dog found among your chatties, and in many eases does not prove sanitarians to the canine as some have turned their paws to the fennel. Miss Martha Ruf left Monday for Fort Wayne, where she will take a three month’s course in the business college. John Moran has again taken up his abode here since the closing of his school. He will devote his time to the practice of law. The democratic primary election of Berne will lie held Monday, April 11. The republican convention on the evening of April 12. Bob Michaud and Joel Winteregg left for Monroe. Mich., to select and pack their spring delivery of fruit trees. They will ship a car load. Joel Eicher and family and Web Foreman and family and Joel Smith and son left Monday noon for Dakota, where they intend to make their future home. G. G. Burry and Joel Kirchhoffer went to Cincinnati, Ohio, to bring home Wm. Kirchhoffer who is under lock and key for annoying a lady at that place. Eli, second son of O. C. Neuenschwander, west of town, at the age of nineteen years, died Tuesday morning after a few days’ illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday forenoon at the Menonnite church. oil City.
