Ihe people also know that our advertisements are considered as binding as any gilt-edged contract. W e do just as we advertise. Berry, one of the best known cit zens of Spencer, Mo., testifies that hecure< himself of the worst kind of piles by using a few boxes of Witch Hazel Salve. He had been troubled with piles for over thirty years and had used many different kinds of so-called i cures; but DeWitt's Hazel Salve was it eone that did the work and he will verify this statement if any one wishes I to write him. Trustee Smith is feeling somewhat improved in health at this writing He contemplates going south. Instead of the Sabbath day being kept as a sacred day of rest, jt seems to be the busiest dav of all days. You can hardly tell it from a week day as the saloon is kept open from early morning until late at night, and some of the men and boys ot this place can be seen congregating there and otherplaces playing cards and other games, and we are compelled to pause, meditate and wonder if we are Fving in a moral and civi hzed community or not. It is enough to put to shame all that are trying to live in obedience to God’s laws. Remember ye vio'ators of the law that your conduct is down grade and will soon had you to your ruin. Card playing is the first step to crime! We hope you will take warning and quit it before it is too late We speak thus regardless of friend or foe Disfigurement for life by burns or scalds may be avoided by using DeWitt’s Witch Hazel Salve, the great remedy for piles and for all kinds of sores and skin troubles. W. H. Nacbtrieb. Keaoliition. Knowing well the circumstances of our beloved Zion’s congregation which, after having been under the leadership and care of our dear pastor. Rev. H. W Vitz, for twelve years, does now stand as a living tree blooming and promising fruit unto life everlasting ' through the living word, which in all these years has been proclaimed to us with much love and pleasure, pure ' and unadulterated, also recognizing that we, as a congregation do lose a pastor of noble character, of noble thought an earnest, upright and untir- i ing worker in our parting brother; and that not only the hearts of the mem- i bers of our congregation are filled with 1 a certain grief but that also the citizens of our city do feel this loss to a ] great extent. Therefore, in that we dare not forget the earthly well being of our pastor unto whom a larger field < in the Father’s vinyard has now been i entrusted, whereby he is a|so more ex- I empted from the care of earthly things, i which we do wish him and his beloved
family which has found a warm spot in the hearts of all, true happiness. Be i Resolved, That we do hereby accept hi- tendered resignation, and that we wish him God’s richest blessing in his future work. Resolved, That we do herewith express our inmost gratitude for the loving care received from him Resolved. That we do request him to remain in our midst until the word of God can be proclaimed to us by another, yet not so long that it may hinder him in the acceptance of a call from some other charge. And, lastly, may God in His wisdom guide and direct us so that we may al) be gathered together in the heavenly Zion there to praise and glorify our heavenly Father in all eternity. M Kirsch, Sec’y.
