People in this vicinity are taking a treat deal of interest in the new pike, and the general feeling seems to be that along-felt want has been filled. Give is more good roads by all means. Biggs. ‘The boys have just received a new supply of music and are now ready to please the populace. Henry Erb has become quite proficient as a carpenter. P. Erb will again sell intoxicating drinks. Bingen is sure to come to the front as this will be a noted place. Henry Koeneman, the popular stock buyer, is our crack sport. Misses Maggie Hill and Maggie Fortney spent Thanksgiving in the country, the guest of Charles Bartling and family. William Comer and wife were very agreeably surprised last Thursday by their children and grandchildren calling on them and presenting them with many useful and appropriate presents. A junior class of eight girls of the Baptist Sunday school were each presented with a beautiful book last Sunday by the pastor. D. B. Reckard, for their diligence in learning many beautiful scripture lessons. Ilaecker is trying to have his new dwelling completed before Xmas. Rey. Ruff was in the pulpit again Sunday, although hardly able to stand the strain. By buying a ticket for the lecture on Dec. 17, you will not only have the opportunity of hearing a first-class lecture. but will help the school library fund. Berne has a ladies foot ball team. The new produce company established Wednesday was a surprise to all. The cause being that so much produce raised by our farmers could not find a market. Tbe aim of the new company will be to buy all the eggs and poultry offered, handle apples, potatoes, garden and field seeds when possible at whole sale and large quantities at retail. They will also hand e new varieties in seeds, and for that purpose intended to erect a building outside of town, but as they were not certain asto what success they might have and in case of failure would lose on such bidding concluded to buy the building now occupied by Campbell, Ervin & Co. This company if rightly managed, will surely prove a benefit to this community, and we bespeak for them success. Eugene Ashleman has offered to sell his brick building to Campbell, Ervin & Co.
