GENEVA. Thanksgiving and roast turkey on deck this week. Everything quiet about about town and health generally good. Winter blowed in on us Tuesday morning accompanied bv a snow storm. Will Aspy is building a palatial stock barn in the east end. Undertaker Clark has moved his coffin shop in one of the rooms of the new Hutton block A perambulating artist was lettering numerous plate glass fronts of our business bouses last Saturday. A possum belonging to Dan Bolds’ menagerie escaped from its cage last Sunday, and took refuge 'in the store, and now a persimmon tree will have to be imported to coax him from his hiding place. The Geneva hoop works have suspended operations for an indefinite period on account of scarcity of timber. One of our doctors has a mild attack of Klondyke fever. Nothing serious. Miss Bertha Baker who was accident ally shot a few weeks ago. is slowly recovering from her wounds. A. Sholts of Portland, now presides behind the bar of Frank Chrisman's saloon. Work on the new M. E. church has been suspended on account of the unfavorable weather. A novelty store will be opened soon in the room recently occupied by S. F. Biteman’s grocery.
