The Bluffton Banner in the, last issue gets out some spicy news from Domestic, as it says: “But some of our married 1 ladies and some unmarried say they never want their husbands or their intended to join the Odd Fellows, not such as they have up near Domestic as those husbands must be very odd if they cau hug and kiss another- man’s wife behind the counter. But rumor say§ he .belongs to Buena Vista.” We verily state that the charge of such pleasant past-time cannot belaid to any person here. Whether such occurred at Domestic or not we cannot say, but when those ladies require greats r purity than Christ claimed for himself, then they exact more than frail humanity is able to render. Christ’s language was. “why calleth thou Me good; there is none good save the Father ” We cheerfuhy draw the attention of those ladies to a Sampson, Judah and other dignitaries of holy writ and learn the weakness that has followed mankind through all ages. We too say that modesty is beautiful bur. we should not permit our discretion to exceed our wisdom ; « The burning of Christian Leohsiger’s barn, seven miles north of heie on Friday night at 12 o’clock, lighted up our streets so that it cast persons shadows.
